French parenting isn't a known thing, like French fashion or French cheese. Even French parents themselves insist they aren't doing anything special. But French children are far better behaved and more in command of themselves than American kids....

Lots of useful advice
I'm happy I read this book. It got many terrible reviews on amazon, and I'm not sure why. Every book on pregnancy and parenting, whether written by doctors or "laypeople" who work in the field, will be a mixture of research and opinion. I think this book had lots of amazing advice for new parents who don't have a clue where to start (like me!). Do I agree with everything stated? No! Do I think it has lots of useful advice about infant products that could be useful, different strategies to apply for fussy babies, and the realities of caring for infants? Heck yes!
In the end, do your resarch, and as stated at least 2,000 times in the book, talk to your doctor about any medical issues you have, and any questions about your infant's health. No book, no matter how well written, will ever be able to give you a diagnosis, or targeted advice to your specific circumstances.
Best of luck on your parenting journey!

Great for parents coming home with a newborn
Overall- I’m currently pregnant with our second child. Knowing how hard it was to come home with a newborn with no clue what to do, I thought I’d check this book out. I found the content so helpful and had quite a few “ah-ha” moments. I laughed and cried and was immediately drawn in. My only criticism is that although it was interesting to hear about their personal experiences, the celebrity testimonials felt more like advertisements.
Performance: the primary narrator had such a comforting voice and made me feel like it was Nanny Connie herself!

Story
The fourth title in Dawn Dais' popular parenting series, The Sh!t No One Tells You About Pregnancy is quite possibly the funniest and most heartfelt yet. After all, pregnancy is not all about scanning Pinterest for baby shower themes and registering for ironic onesies, and sometimes the less flattering aspects of gestation have a way of dimming a bit of that so-called pregnancy glow. Not to worry! Dawn is here, ready to shepherd you through the experience of one human body taking on the task of growing another human body.

Story
Around the time your first baby turns a year old your brain will turn on you. For reasons that are still not understood by science, the sleep deprivation and postpartum hormones you barely survived with your first baby fade from memory and will be replaced with idyllic images of your growing child. This is when your brain, having officially lost all regard for your well-being, begins to fantasize about a second baby. And for the first time since becoming a parent, these thoughts don't make you break out in hives.

Story
When multimillion-selling vocalist and actress Kelly Rowland gave birth to her son Titan in November 2014, it was love at first sight - she honestly could not believe how beautiful he was. But, as Rowland says, she would be lying if she said she wasn't also a little freaked out about what had just happened to her body as well as by many overwhelming new thoughts and emotions. It was a good thing that Dr. Tristan Bickman, Rowland's OB/GYN for the last 14 years, was there.
