Publisher's Summary

From the beloved nanny to stars like Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, and Cash Warren and Jessica Alba comes a loving yet no-nonsense guide to the first four months of parenthood so you can raise a happy baby - and be happy parents.

There is nothing like the overwhelming love of gazing upon your beautiful newborn, but there is really nothing like the overwhelming terror of not being able to comfort that screaming baby.

Have no fear! Nanny Connie is here with all the solutions you need for every baby-care dilemma from comforting a colicky infant to trying to breastfeed in public. Her sweet and sassy drawl seeps right out of this audiobook, reassuring you that everything will be fine as she guides you with her God-given wisdom, larger-than-life compassion, and three decades' worth of experience and patience.

Connie, “quite simply one of the greatest humans on this planet” (Emily Blunt) and a mother herself, comes from many generations of strong women with loads of experience in mothering, midwifery, and Southern values. Broken into three easy-to-follow sections (pre-baby arrangements, that immediate postbirth glow, and the first four months of the rest of your life), The Nanny Connie Way is your go-to, first-time-parent-proof baby manual that will give you not only the guidance you crave but also the confidence to be the best parent you can be.

Connie tackles everything including:

  • Breastfeeding do and don’ts
  • The power of the pacifier
  • Bath time with baby
  • The nighttime sleep ritual
  • Managing new mommy stress

Connie won’t just get you through the sleepless nights and the explosive diapers - she’s going to make you thrive.

Great advice for this first time mom

I loved Connie’s no nonsense and direct nature. She addressed every issue I had concerns or questions with as a first time mom. I really enjoyed all the informative information about what you will need and not need. The sleepy time chapter is so helpful! I definitely recommend this to all moms out there!

Lots of useful advice

I'm happy I read this book. It got many terrible reviews on amazon, and I'm not sure why. Every book on pregnancy and parenting, whether written by doctors or "laypeople" who work in the field, will be a mixture of research and opinion. I think this book had lots of amazing advice for new parents who don't have a clue where to start (like me!). Do I agree with everything stated? No! Do I think it has lots of useful advice about infant products that could be useful, different strategies to apply for fussy babies, and the realities of caring for infants? Heck yes!

In the end, do your resarch, and as stated at least 2,000 times in the book, talk to your doctor about any medical issues you have, and any questions about your infant's health. No book, no matter how well written, will ever be able to give you a diagnosis, or targeted advice to your specific circumstances.

Best of luck on your parenting journey!

Wonderful!

I have loved this book! Connie’s reading of her book really makes you feel like you’re sitting down with her having a chat. It’s very well written, lots of good advice and tons of things I didn’t know and hadn’t thought of. Wonderful read!

Great for parents coming home with a newborn

Overall- I’m currently pregnant with our second child. Knowing how hard it was to come home with a newborn with no clue what to do, I thought I’d check this book out. I found the content so helpful and had quite a few “ah-ha” moments. I laughed and cried and was immediately drawn in. My only criticism is that although it was interesting to hear about their personal experiences, the celebrity testimonials felt more like advertisements.

Performance: the primary narrator had such a comforting voice and made me feel like it was Nanny Connie herself!
