Publisher's Summary

Lucius, King of the Mermen, and ruler of the city of Atlantes, shoulders the guilt for his people’s curse. After being trapped under the sea for two millennia, the time has come for his people to possibly surface and breathe air. He’s ready to be the first to test the theory, but things do not go as expected when a captivating beauty seemingly falls into his lap - and his ocean.

Is Olivette a present from the gods, or a warning to stay punished beneath the waves where his people belong?

Great story but definitely leaves loose ends

I have very mixed feelings about this series coming to an end. I enjoyed the whole series very much. And the narrator just got better and better, especially considering the narrator weirded me out in the first book. The books are well written and well edited, which is unusual in this genre. The storylines are also pretty unique—once again, unusual in this genre. The female protagonist in this one is I think my favorite so far. She’s not overly sassy like a Lira in book 3 or whiny and dumb like Bridget in book one. Also, this book tells the story of the king. Which I had been dying for the entire time. It brings the entire series to a close by addressing the centuries-long feud with the Olympians, and what the kingdom does when the dome around them starts to break. All in all, I love the book, but the conclusion felt rushed and left many loose ends. It gives no explanation of the three triplet boys. How it is the gods allowed them to be and also what became of them. No other children? Really? We’re just glossing right over that? There’s also no closure on what happens to the Olympians. No vengeance of any kind? What? I’m glad all the women ended up happily as mermaids with their mates, and I know these types of stories aren’t exactly known for plot development, but these books were actually really good! So I expected a better ending. All in all, books three, four, and five, were just too short. The author obviously has the talent to round out the stories further, but chose not to in the middle of the series. It left too many loops to close and not enough time to do it. I’m still giving this four stars because, well, the stores were cool. Just be prepared for a sigh of frustration at the end.

Omg!!!

Loved the king since the beginning of the series and I’m so happy that a story was written for him. Definitely a must get.

Thoroughly enjoyable

Lovely story of hope and survival of the mermen and women. The book was well written and the narrator was concise and clear. I really enjoyed listening to this story. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18.
