Underwhelming

I really didn’t want to give this book a low rating. I had higher expectations, though I’m not sure why I did? I felt like you were always waiting for something significant, or of bigger interest to happen. The pace remained very consistent, without offering the reader any peaks of excitement or changes of emotion. The character development was decent. The storyline was creative, although I was looking for a little more dystopian, science fiction, etc., based on the Audible description and why I chose the book. This is not the author’s fault. I felt like the story focused too heavily on only two particular characters. But the real reason for my less than desirable review, is because there is this “waiting for something to happen” throughout the entire book, until the ending.
