Publisher's Summary

Andalin is accustomed to her father’s frequent travels - and to being left behind. So when he returns home and instructs her to pack her belongings, she is bewildered - but there is no time for questions as she is whisked away on a mysterious journey under the cover of night. When their tense flight leads them into the forbidding Black Forest, the pair quickly finds themselves in great peril. With little hope of escape, father and daughter are spared when rescue appears in the form of the mysterious Dark Rider, a notorious deadly highwayman feared by all he meets. But his assistance does not come without a price: He is taking Andalin with him. Now her fate rests in the hands of the enigmatic masked man whose secrets are inescapably tied to the beautiful young woman now in his charge.

Disappointed

I almost stopped listening about a quarter into the book. Although it did get a little better by the time I finished the book, I regretted wasting the time. Definitely more of a YA book, although even still not a good one. The heroine was annoying and constantly crying. The character development was thin, making parts of the story unbelievable. Not worth a credit and I’ll be returning, which I rarely do.

My favorite book I have read in a while!

This was just a fantastic book. it had everything I love about a regency romance but MORE!

Mystery, romance, suspense and even magic!

also ELLIS, you are perfection. I love you.
I really loved the staff at the manor, the best friend and Annie she was a great MC.

I may have the paperback in my Amazon cart now...

this was an incredible Beauty and The Beast retelling! YOU HAVE TO READ IT!

Spoiler alert. There was just too much going on in this book. The search for a missing person, two people murdered, the hero's deception, arson, a witch....

Charming Rendition of Beauty & the Beast

A charming rendition of beauty and the beast. Annie and Ellis were both intriguing, well drawn characters. A good bit of mystery also lent itself to make this a very enjoyable read. I also thoroughly enjoyed the audible version and will be looking forward to further stories by this author.

Must more than I expected!

I truly loved this book. It wasn’t just a romance but had a lot of mystery and intrigue. Once I started listening I couldn’t stop. The narration was wonderful as well. I’ll put this on my short list of books that I’ll read multiple times a year.

A Real Pleasure

A gentle yet very persuasive rendering of the nature of falling in love. Made all the more compelling because the characterises abided by the mores of their time. It was also a rather deft feint on the power of faith and kindness.

Great story, too many similar names

Very confusing when names were similar. Great story and narration, though. I love her books!
