Publisher's Summary

Ayla

My wings were ready to fly, but he clipped them. Feather by feather, until I had nothing left.

Then my savior came.

He waged a bloodbath to find me. He loves me. He wants his Angel to be free. But how can I fly again when my wings are broken?

Alessio

This war isn’t over. If he thought he could break her and just disappear, he was wrong. I am going to find him and break him like he broke her.

I made a vow to my Angel.

I promised to let her fly...I promised to save her soul.

And I never break my vows.

The weakest of the 3

You can’t listen to the first 3 and not listen to the conclusion but their is a Lot of filler in this one! The author could have accomplished everything that happened in at least half the pages.

I hated book 3

The female character was so annoying. She was so clueless. The male character went from being a bad ass to annoying. I liked book 1, tolerated book 2 and loathed book 3. They became so infuriating. It dragged on. I couldn’t wait for it to be over.

...

Completely and utterly unsatisfying. What was the point of the entire last third of the book.

How long can you drag out a story?

I swear this author did her best to turn a single book into 3, each one dragging on more then the last! The story line started out well, but this author wrote like she’s trying to add every descriptive word for the smallest situation just to lengthen the story. Also don’t get me started on all the repetitive phrase, those got super annoying. Winding skipping ahead through most of the 2nd and 3rd books and really don’t feel like I missed anything. I don’t think I’ll read another book by this author ever again, I just had to see how it ended... btw it was very predictable.

Not great

I enjoyed the first installment of this story and I think that’s why I continued with it until the end. Slight spoiler...
The conclusion of this story happens about half way through this third book and the other half of it is just a giant epilogue. The second half is pretty much unnecessary and the dialogue is very repetitive. I wanted to stop reading but I need to finish a book if I start it.
In short, this story definitely did not need three books.

4.5 stars

As much as I loved this series, I feel like book 3 although good kind of dragged out the story longer than it should have. With that said it kind of had too because you had to see how Ayla was brought back from her darkness by Aleesio. I could easily relisten to this book.

loyalty and honor

Loved the narration and the story was amazing. lots of hot scenes but also be warned some brutal but satisfying chapters as well. Hopefully future books will dive more into Alessio and his brutality and sweet side.

Great Series! Love this Story!

I would highly recommend the 3-book series “The Mafia and His Angel”.

Just some constructive feedback...As many reviewers have said, the intensity and momentum of Book 1 (which was incredible) declined in Book 2 and Book 3. I also agree that this final book in the series was too long considering what needed to be covered/wrapped up. Much of the content was superfluous, but still well worth the listen.

I also think that the series could have benefited from more mob action. Mobsters should be out and about at all hours, involved in their illegal activities, inter-mob wars, intel gathering, etc. Outside of one illegal fighting match and a couple of scenes in a mob-owned strip club, there is very little of this.

Some reviewers have commented that the incidents of torture in Book 3 were excessive and gratuitous. I disagree. More than anything else in this book, these scenes illustrate the lengths the mob will go to in order to instill fear and to put down any thought of insurrection among their followers. The scenes obliterated any romantic notions readers may have had about the mob or mobsters themselves. That said, these are the most brutal, violent, and visceral scenes that I have ever read, so those with PTSD or a history of assault should probably skip those sections altogether to avoid extreme triggers.

All said, this is a compelling mafia story with lots of funny and intense characters (even some lovable ones). The history of the war between the two families is also really interesting and as it is gradually revealed, we come to understand why the war has continued for so long, with such vitriol. The story line is truly unique, so I was hooked and stayed that way until the resolution. I would highly recommend the series!

On and on and on

I have 4 hours left in this book and I am bored to tears. I want to finish it but this so redundant and I just don’t know how the author can drag this out for so long. First book was good, second book was ok but this one is nearly unbearable. The narrator was pretty good but the story just did not know when to stop.

favorite mafia romance

it's one of my favorite mafia romance. dark and intense. I would recommend Crow: Boston Underworld for something similar - less dark but still intense.

Loved this series

Deliciously dark mafia story. Sexually charged and incredibly romantic. Alessio & Ayla’s story was full of ups and downs, I found myself laughing and crying for them. Narration was good but could have been better if there were a male and female narrator.
