What if everything you knew was a lie?

The night of the car accident changes everything for Jace Northall, leaving him an orphan at three years old.

Fast forward 12 years later, Jace is struggling to survive his teen years. Frequent relocations complicate his life, leaving him feeling lonely and frustrated. After his most recent move, Jace is hopeful they have finally found a place to call home, where he can finally just be a normal kid.

After an adventurous night out with his new friends Marcus and Izzie, Jace learns that there is nothing normal about his life and is left desperately fighting to keep his world together and protect the ones he loves.

Realizing the enemy is closing in, he abandons his old life, searching for answers. With his newfound abilities and the help of his friends, Jace is reborn as the unlikely hero while he journeys to discover who he truly is and how he fits in.

The author, Annie O'Connell, does a really good job of character development. The characters are well-rounded and well-written. I also loved the story, which is a must-read for fans of magical realism. Plus, the audiobook narrator, who was spot-on, made it easy for me to enjoy this story in one day.

I really enjoyed this story. It was full of great characters and an awesome dog. Jace becomes an orphan at 3 after his parents are killed. His aunt & uncle, Cora and Roman take him in and raise him as their own son. Uncle Romans job causes them to move constantly. It's hard for Jace to make friends. Their most recent move has him hoping to stay. He makes friends with Marcus, Izzie and Buddy so Jace has hope. Then he learns not all is as it seems and his life is turned upside down. Once I started it I didn't want to put it down.

Great story

Really slow moving over at least the first 10 chapters. Did not have a clue what the story was about until mid way through.

There isn't really a middle to the story. it starts and finishes.

Overall it is ok.

The Lunar Codex is well written and interesting. The story kept me listening and entertained even though it is more for a teen to young adult vibe. Would definitely recommend to my nieces and nephews.

After moving from place to place all his life Jace finally makes friends with Izzie and Marcus. After a night out with his friends goes wrong, they end up on an unexpected trip with and unlikely alley.
