Publisher's summary

Would you kill your friends to save your nation? If you had the power to resurrect those friends, would you? Or would you leave them dead since they betrayed you?

Gods and galaxies. Here in the Galactic Union's realm, humanity has advanced so far, immortality and omnipotence have been achieved. The power to create planets is millennia old, and people rise from the dead. Yet even with divine abilities, humans still squabble in their lust for more power.

Five nations govern themselves through the Galactic Union, a militaristic government built to stifle nationalism. Galactic lords keep the nations in check, but the system is not what it seems. For though peace has been maintained for a thousand years, the stronger nations puppeteer the government for their own gain. And though the all-powerful lords should stem the tide of corruption, nationalism has slithered its way into the hearts and minds of some of them. Unity fades, and conversations of a coup abound. A former lord returns from exile after assassins try to murder him. Now again in public life, he and those loyal to him will have to choose between the good of their nations and the galaxy. Yet the lines are not always clear, and the Allorian Brotherhood has resurrected from the dead. If the former lord takes a single political misstep, the galaxy will fall into war....
