THE STORY

The End Times have come. Archaon Everchosen marches on the city of Middenheim – if he captures it, the key to the Chaos Gods' ultimate victory will be his. The last heroes of men, elves and dwarfs gather to stop him, but to stand against the hordes of the Ruinous Powers, they must turn to darker allies. Against all reason, the last hope for the world may be the Undying King, Nagash himself – if he and the mortal races can find a common cause and work together. If they cannot, Archaon's plan will come to fruition, and Chaos will consume the world.

loved it I don't care what people say about the endtimes these books are fantastic and the narration is even better.

The End

The end of the Old World is a decent story. The heroes of the world fought defiantly til the end.

absolutely loved this series and this book so far is my favourite. awesome performance and the story was just amazing thank you so much

A surprisingly compelling end to an era

I once heard that players of the original Warhammer Fantasy bemoaned the end of their setting's continued support. This piece, as well as the four novels before it, contextualize The End Times in such a way that I am satisfied. A worthy, "mighty doom" one might say.

Warhammer Old world

The Series has a been an absolute joy I love listening to the books while playing total war warhammer really brings the vibe into the game while fighting off the hordes of chaos!FOR FRANZ!FOR SIGMAR!FOR THE EMPIRE!!

Great book!

The final book, with an amazing story. Sad to see it come to and end as Warhammer was part of my childhood, but also glad to hear it’s coming back.

Better then Good, Exilent especially Sarcasm

i am a Fiend for amazingly written sarcasm.
and I love the back and forth banter of "allied forces" And I love the sarcasm of.... a few heros "shooting the shit in the woods" (line workers chatting)
1 vague example.
" ..... oh excuse me you're right, We Should Parlay, no matter army behind us."

Andrew James Spooner was the perfect reader/narrator to bring this to a close. his work through th end times books is phenomenal. The series is incredibly well written and the characters are brought to life. highly recommend the series. 10/10

All good things come to an end.

And this was the end of classic warhammer fantasy, which would become Age of Sigmar, and later would reboot as The Old World. This book felt much more competently done with what the author had to work with, and was a satisfying if somewhat annoying end to warhammer fantasy. Many characters get their just desserts, other's have their final doom in inglorious ways, and a rare few have ends that are satisfying. This is how warhammer should have ended, if it was to end at all.

I quite liked how many smaller characters were present in this book, who had a good amount in it compared to the powerhouses slugging it out for the majority of the novel. I won't spoil anything but those familiar with the setting and alot of the smaller stories will be quite happy. As well as those who have been following it for a long time, or know a majority of the characters of note. Some are left out, but that should have been expected even with 5 entire books.

Andrew James Spooner does a fantastic job bringing this all to life, and i can't think of many other narrators i would have preferred.

Overall, a fine ending to a saga that was somewhat notoriously shelved poorly and without regard to many of the characters and storylines within. I liked what was here, and hope The Old World can come even close to my love for classic warhammer fantasy.

Good performance but held back by GW

Its been known that games workshop fumbled the end times for a long time. It finally comes home to rest in this book this is not the authors fault, but it does suffer from it
