Friends, let us study the holy Scriptures, for this is the very thing greater than all earthly bread, but let us also not neglect the study of the very men that walked and lived in the days of the Apostles, for their wisdom and words are valuable to our development unto holiness and godly virtue. The Letters of St Ignatius is very practical, insightful, and still relevant for our times.

historically valuable

Insightful and grounding. I just wish the narrator wasn't so robotic throughout most of the text. Delivery could have made the old English so much better.

Early church is Eucharistic, liturgical, and had the heiarchy of the church even during persecution
