Publisher's summary

“Be quiet and listen: He is cheating on you. The name of your soulmate is Alistair George Arthur Lennox. You will be passed over for the promotion. The winning numbers are 5-8-12-24-39-43. And I’m very sorry to tell you this, but you will die next Sunday.”

When Lilah Goodluck saves the life of Good Witch Willow as they’re crossing a busy L.A. street, the last thing she expects is five unwanted predictions as a reward. Who gives someone the winning lotto numbers then tells them they’ve only got a week to live? And who believes in that nonsense anyway?

But when the first three predictions come true within twenty-four hours, Lilah’s disbelief turns to mild panic. She’s further horrified when she nearly runs a car off the road that belongs to Alistair Lennox, who just happens to be the illegitimate son of the British king.

While Alistair is intrigued by her preposterous story, Lilah is adamant about resisting the heat between her and the playboy prince. If she denies he’s her soulmate, then the last prediction can’t come true, right? As the days count down, they become maybe friends…and then maybe more. But between the relentless paparazzi and some disapproving royals, finding time for love isn’t easy, especially when her days may be numbered.

Red White and Royal Blue meets The Last Holiday in this delightfully quirky novel from the New York Times bestselling author of End of Story, about a woman who unexpectedly finds "fall in love with a prince" at the top of her bucket list.

Always love a good Kylie Scott romance

I just love the storytelling and back and forth between the characters. Just so real. And Andi Arndt is the absolute best narrator out there!

Enjoyed the audiobook so much

2/20/24 The audiobook was amazing. I listened to it on my drive from Oregon to the bay area. It was the only bright spot in my drive.

I can't think of any other story that would be absolutely perfect as an audiobook that The Last Days of Lilah Goodluck. I laughed out loud reading the story. I am sure I would be in tears if I listened to the story.

The Last Days of Lilah Goodluck is a book that centers around "if it can go wrong it will happen to Lilah". She saved Good Witch Willow from decorating the front of a car. As a thank you Willow blessed Lilah with her future. A future that would not last very long at all.

One after another, the predictions come true. I was starting to bite my nails. It wasn't all good. She was told she would meet her soul mate, a man so far out of her reach that she knew the witch was off her rocker.

2/20/24 AUDIOBOOK MAGNIFICENCE---I listened to this on my way to the bay area in atrocious weather. The last days of Lilah Goodluck was the only bright spot in my day.

That is until Lilah almost runs into Alistair, her aforementioned soulmate. The story becomes filled with tension, shocking moments, and lots and lots of bickering that had me rolling on the floor laughing. Talk about opposites!!!

That man owns the preverbial stick. I was doubting it could be removed. He is awkward. He is unapproachable. He is cold. And yet he can't stay away from Lilah. In fact he helps her with her bucket list while still in denial of any chemistry.

Everything is a first with her. His friends don't make it easy. His mother doesn't make it easy. And when his deadbeat of a dad, The King of England, tries to interfere, let's just say things get interesting. Alexander is determined to prove the witch wrong. The question is does he have the ability to stop what is coming.

Another Great Book by Kylie Scott!!

This was my first Kylie Scott book that didn’t involve athletes or rock stars so I wasn’t sure what to expect , but of course, Kylie is an automatic click for me, so it was amazing. In addition to loving Lilah and Alistair, Alistair’s mom was a hoot. Add in the fabulous narration by Andi Arndt and I didn’t want it to end.

Fun and Heartwarming 🩷

Team Kylie and Andi do it again! Kylie Scott is my humor through and through. Ever since I found her while enjoying my Stage Dive boys she has been making me actually laugh out loud in public places with my AirPods on. This book was on par. Loved the story, the delivery, the main and minor characters, the overall message of the book, the diversity. Well done!
Andi has this ability to make you forget that you are only hearing one person… her male voices are wonderfully done. Another flawless performance!

Outstanding

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Narrators made the characters come alive and just added to the perfection of the story. I got so engrossed in the story that I totally forgot about everything else I had planned. I felt her fears when her fortune was told by the witch. I totally felt her journey as things happened. Then the ending was beyond belief. This one was so very good. So well done. I have already listened to this audible 3 times. It will be in my “favorites to listened to again” section.

I really didn’t know what to expect.

I love Kylie Scott. I have since I found her Stage Dive series. Theirs seemed a gamble though. I’m guessing because of the description, but I bought it anyway. Kylie doesn’t disappoint. Another brilliant story! It wasn’t well written and realistic. There wasn’t a single “that would never happen” moment.

Andy Arndt is brilliant as usual. I don’t believe I’ve ever listen to anything narrated by her that wasn’t spot on.

Well worth the cost of a credit!

Kylie keeps me coming back for more; loved it.

I will admit after her last book, End of Story, I was a little hesitant to take a chance on this one but I'm glad I did. Not being a fan of her Stage Dive series I will admit I'm a bit picky about my Kylie choices. When it comes to those I either love them or not love them. (hate is such a strong word). Repeat and Pause...loved them. Wouldn't mind more in that series. Fake and Famous in a Small Town...loved them too. If fact if you've read and like those last two, Fake and Famous in a Small Town, I think you'll enjoy this book too. It reminded me a lot of those. In fact, it had all the best elements of them combined into one story line. Now, on to my thoughts on this book: *possible spoilers ahead but not the ending*

The narration was great, but of course it was, Andi Arndt was doing the reading. I love her. lol We start out a Lilah's BFF birthday party. She's there to celebrate with her friend but has been avoiding the main entertainment...a fortune teller. They keep referring to her as a witch so I'm not sure what that was about. When it's Lilah's turn she's reluctant to participate and the time runs out and the old lady leaves. Lilah ends up going home early and finds herself waiting at a cross walk next to the fortune teller. When the light changes the old lady starts to cross and barely misses being run over by a car when Lilah pulls her back out of the way. The old lady feels she owes Lilah a reward and gifts her with some of the things she didn't ask earlier but thought. She told her that her boyfriend was cheating, the next winning lotto numbers, she wouldn't get the promotion, and who her soul mate was, and that she was going to die in 8 days before leaving Lilah standing there speechless. Lilah stops to pick up some acetaminophen and puts those lotto numbers to use while she's at it. She arrives home early to a find a flustered boyfriend who tries to prevent her from going into the bathroom for the first aid kit to tend her scraped palms. Yup, you guessed it. There was a girl in there. Of course she does what any self respecting woman does and kicks him to the curb. After telling him to pack his s**t and get out she leaves. When she gets to work the next day she finds out she didn't get that promotion she was hoping for and it was already given to someone else. She leaves work early upset and crashes her car driving away and narrowly misses another car doing so. The other car just happens to be driven by the same guy that was named as her soul mate. Denying his identity the whole time she runs off to a bar to drown her sorrows. He follows her and they start talking. The lotto drawing comes on the bar tv and she's successfully picked 5 of the 6 numbers because she could only remember those 5. NOW she's getting worried when it looks like the old lady may have been on to something. She didn't want to die in 8 days. Her soul mate asks her what's wrong and she tells him. He laughs it off, pays for her tab, then leaves her in the bar telling her to have a nice life. He doesn't stay gone though.

This is where I end my review because I don't want to give too much away but it only gets better from there. This is absolutely one of Kylie's better books. If you liked the same books I do that she's written, you'll enjoy this one too.

HEA royal style

The business with the choking during sex bothered me because sometimes men don’t realize how strong they are. Lost a patient to a man’s strength. She died from crushed wind pipe, larynx crushed. She was gone and her husband charged with manslaughter. The love story was great except for the choking.
