Publisher's Summary

Terra stands upon the brink of Unity. The armies of the self-proclaimed Emperor of Mankind have waged their bloody wars to bring the whole planet under his rule, crushing all traces of outlawed religion and worship from the face of this now secular utopia.

But even the mighty Thunder Warriors cannot cow Uriah Olathaire, last priest of the Church of the Lightning Stone, as he goes about his empty, hollow rituals - and only one last and thoroughly unexpected visitor can bring any hope of a possible reconciliation.

be warned, one short story, only.

Look for Tales of Heresy, at it contains the other shorts in novel Length. This particular entry is just the one short story. It's a good short mind you, but no warning that it's the one short story unless you go looking for it.

An amazing story!

You do not need to know anything about Warhammer 40,000 or the Horus Heresy to enjoy this story. Like all good science fiction it has an underlying theme that is important to us today. It speaks of the centuries old debate of religion vs reason. McNeill expertly weaves a tale that is enthralling. A great story from a great author.

Fantastic

This was phenomenal narrative to listen to. Although the Horus Heresy series, and the larger Warhammer 40,000 universe, is known for its violence and well crafted war stories this story provides an insight for a different aspect the series I didn’t know we needed. Graham McNeill does not disappoint in this short but engaging novel which I would highly recommend.

The story of the Emperor continues

Another insightful look into the mysterious back story of the BIG E.

An entertaining tail of the last church before the commencement of the great crusade.

Another great performance from Johnathan Keeble and 90 minutes of lore and back story to one of the most mystifying characters in 40K.

Worth a listen.

Wow

Even though its a short story from the tales of heresy it is still one of my favourite books of the horus heresy, truly enjoyed it
