Publisher's summary

What’s worse than a gorgeous one-night stand who doesn’t remember you? Having to pretend to be his wife. For work.

The Rogues Division is a top-secret, highly classified, “I’d tell you but I’d have to kill you” kind of organization. The kind of organization the government pretends not to love having at its disposal.

And we just got our newest recruit: Lachlan King, the sexy billionaire playboy who seduced me into one night of wild, soul-shattering sex.

When I slipped out of his bed three months ago, I never expected to see him again. My future is set. I’m going to be a Rogues field agent. And field agents don’t date. Not to mention it’s forbidden to date each other. I’m relieved when he also pretends not to know me, so we can avoid any office awkwardness—until I realize he isn’t pretending.

Even worse luck, I’m assigned to play his lover in the field.

Okay, okay, deep breath. This mission will be easy. All I need to do is pretend to be madly in love with him and make sure neither of us die. Oh and remember this isn’t real. I’ve got to remember that. I cannot let this playboy seduce me again no matter what my belly does when he looks at me like I’m his.

Lachlan “the King", however, has thrown himself into our undercover assignment a little too wholeheartedly. He’s hell-bent and determined on being as convincing as possible.

But there’s no way I’m letting him fake-husband me back into bed. I won’t fall for him this time. I won’t. Will I?

SO HOT!

This one has everything. As soon as I finished I wanted to listen to it again. And...the conversations the Lackland had with his eggplant... 🤣

Is he The King?

Such a wonderful romance! King and Saff are a lovely, badass couple! Between fighting their feelings, their past, and the work they do, this difficult relationship will tried to prevail.

I believe this duet is the first time I've ever listened to these narrators and they were fantastic! I enjoyed their voices and tones and they did a great job with their "other character" voices as well!

Loved this Romantic suspense

Okay! I see you Saffron. Much respect. Loved the narrator and the accent.

First of all, I strongly insist that the Heir should be read before beginning this book. The background story really makes a difference in establishing the history and chemistry between Saff and Lachlan.

What a fun adventure in espionage and love. Lachlan and Saffron were a bit angsty as they fought in training and fought their attraction. I loved the way the author really allowed Saffron to be a girl boss and stand on her own merit. She was smart, strong and sexy. She was Lachlan’s equal in every way except he was rich. Saffron reminded me of Nikita and that was a tv show that I really enjoyed. I really liked Lachlan because he was good man. He pulled out the stops to win the respect of his lady who was his superior in the organization. Each main character had an interesting back story and motivation for why they are an operative. This is what a romantic suspense book should be like. Fun, fighting and you know what that starts with an f!

Well worth the credit!

Be sure to grab book 1 before this--it's AMAZING too! This series just helped me cure a long "hangover" from the last series that left me truly wanting more. Loved this story, Lots of Alpha in this story but no wimpy female counterpart to ruin the chaos!

Saffron Abbott is a total BA

This book was amazing. The story was both fresh and interesting. The narration…superb (kisses 2 fingers as if a chef). The timbre in this guys voice caused my ear drums to imagine him whispering naughty words into my. I can hear him now, “oh baby, you’ve been such a naughty, naughty girl”.

Entertaining!

This is the second book in the Gentlemen Rogues series. I read it, and loved it! The audiobook version is amazing! Lachlan and Saffron's story continues where the first book left off. Saffron is so strong, smart, and capable. Lachlan is handsome, charming, and supportive. They are perfect together. Their story is funny, sexy, action packed, and suspenseful, filled with intrigue, and drama. The world building is captivating, and entertaining. The supporting characters are intriguing. Saffron and Lachlan's story ends with a beautiful HEA, but the story ends with a big cliffhanger, and I am looking forward to reading Saint's story, the next book in the series. John Hartley and Leila Allarie did an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed it. I highly recommend this series. If you like Romantic Suspense, this series is for you!

So hot it should come with its own BOB

This was so hot I need a glass of wine! The characters were so realistic with deep emotions and strong personalities. I loved seeing Lockland and Saffron fall in love, but the supporting characters and spy stuff plus the family drama made it a story I couldn’t stop listening to! Definitely needed to listen with earphones on! Whew!

Loved It

I loved this romantic suspense, Nana kept me on the edge of my seat. Saffron and Lachlan had all of the chemistry. I loved Saffron’s strength and her ability never gave up no matter how many times she had to prove herself. Lachlan was protective over Saffron. I loved watching them navigate the ups and downs of relationship through their missions and feelings throughout this book.

Leila Allarie is a new to me narrator and I enjoyed her performance as Saffron she did a great job portraying her strength and determination. John Hartley was great at bringing out Lachlan’s protectiveness over Saffron. They both gave great performances.
