The Ishbane Conspiracy

The story was good and thought-provoking. However, the sound effects were very distracting. I would've preferred it just read as a novel rather than being acted out. I would still recommend it because the story needs to be told.

LOVED THIS STORY

So similar to some of C. S. Lewis' writings, but I enjoyed this - The Ishbane Conspiracy – even more! Hope there's more of this kind by Randy Alcotn.

Riveting story! Real locations! Inspirational!

I read a hard copy YEARS AGO! Have read it multiple times. Actually, I have an autographed copy of this book! I've met Randy and his wife, briefly YEARS ago, if I could go back I'd appreciate that moment so much more than I did as a teen. Guess I maybe wasn't so different from the main characters in this book... I live in Randy Alcorn's home town. Which is where this story takes place. It is really cool to read or listen to a book and actually be able to picture the REAL place, Cafe Delirium and Sunny Hans, both local businesses I've actually been to, so I'm not just visualizing what it might look like... However, going back to the fact I've read the book (a couple times) and now listened to the Audio version, I feel like there are little snippets of details or thoughts the kids have that are not portrayed... Story is still powerful!

Story great; Narrator not

I loved Lord Foulgrin's Letters, so wanted to try this with my young adults. The story is good, the demonic expression is very good, but overall, I felt they need a better narrator. I don't like listening to voices that sound like this modern world: a man trying to be a woman - when the narrator was trying to sound like teenage girls. Also, sadly, the abridgement really took a lot from the story, so we read the book alongside the narration and had to stop at times, as there were sections where 25 pages were missing in a single chunk. I think this would be much better not being abridged.

Garbage

Couldn't tell if reader was male or female. I'm sorry to have purchased such trash. I have enjoyed Alcorn in the past though.

Great story!

I enjoyed the story, but had a bit of trouble listening to the narrator. He seemed to drag out his words and sentences in a way that didn’t appeal to me.

A Grear Read or Listen

I was worried that this would be a hard read. It was really good. The narrator did a really good job and the storyline didn't drag you down. Overall, I enjoyed it very much.
