Acerca de esta escucha
The Intentional IEP shows special education teachers how to successfully collaborate with all stakeholders to work toward students' success. Too many of us aren't trained to write the Individualized Education Programs that help millions of students with thrive in school. This book fills that training gap, explaining the importance of assembling an IEP team and inviting this team to confront and improve its current processes and habits to make IEP writing simpler and more effective.
With all the pressures that educators are under, it's easy to cut corners when it comes time to write IEPs. The Intentional IEP equips you with the resources you need to feel confident in approaching IEPs the right way, including prioritizing the many competing demands you face so you can find the capacity to show up for your students.
This book offers:
- Clear, step-by-step solutions for all IEP members
- Collaboration strategies for IEP teammates
- Tools and reproducibles to strengthen practices and overcome common hurdles
The Intentional IEP is a timely resource for special education teachers, general education teachers, and support staff, as well as teacher training programs.

School discipline is broken. Too often, the kids who need our help the most are viewed as disrespectful, out of control, and beyond help, and are often the recipients of our most ineffective, most punitive interventions. These students - and their parents, teachers, and administrators - are frustrated and desperate for answers. Dr. Ross W. Greene, author of the acclaimed book The Explosive Child, offers educators and parents a different framework for understanding challenging behavior.

Now, most people have heard of ADHD and know someone who may have it. But lost in the discussion of both childhood and adult diagnosis of ADHD is the potential upside: Many hugely successful entrepreneurs and highly creative people attribute their achievements to ADHD. Also unknown to most are the recent research developments, including innovations that give a clearer understanding of the ADHD brain in action.

The Essential IEP Guidebook
Stephanie is a special education mastermind. She is the perfect guide to all things IEP. From the legal to the personal, she makes it make sense. As an experienced IEP writer, I can tell you that this book is perfect for all levels of experience, and I wish I had it as a new case manager my first year. It is delightfully refreshing to hear her explanations that are simple yet still manage to contain all of the fact and foundation needed.
It doesn’t matter where you teach, she explains all of the foundations that make up an IEP in a way that you can apply to your own work.
The length and style of the book is digestible for even the busiest teachers. Both the print and audio versions are fantastic.
If you are an IEP team member - whether the case manager, Gen Ed teacher, therapist, admin, or anyone in-between - I cannot recommend enough that you put this book at the top of your reading list. You will finish it quickly with a feeling of rejuvenation and readiness to improve your IEP practice.

Great information for Sped teachers
Very thorough information about all the IEP parts for new Sped teachers. I didn't love the breathy delivery of the narration. It's professional learning not a soap opera.
