The author Steve shares years of knowledge and wisdom that will take your gardening skills up in incredible ways! A lot of focus on nutrient dense food. There’s a growing movement out there in pursuit of the knowledge around how our quality of health is linked in so many ways to the quality of the soil it is grown in. This book sheds light on so much of that. A must read for anyone wanting to improve their gardening and the quality of their soil and garden!

Fantastic book for understanding soil and how, with improved soil, you can grow nutrient dense food. All other gardening paradigms mentioned in the book don't have the goal of nutrient dense food or use prescriptions that won't necessarily work everywhere. They use guess work while this book emphasizes soil testing and the tools to read a soil test and how to amend your specific soil based on your testing results.

A treasure trove of knowledge

This is a college level gardening course in a world of elementary school class options!

Im doing everything wrong in my garden

A bit boring but still learned a lot in short amount of time.I do recommend it to anyone that is growing .

Spinning wheels

I became bored with the irrelevant information such as his wife’s ex passing away and the details following that. It has nothing to do with reinvigorating the soil with minerals. There were several moments similarly injecting unnecessary information, taking away from the story and one where the author should have dove deeper, sharing in detail what he learned from someone in Oregon about adding minerals to the soil.

So much food judgement

As a nutrition professional I enjoy a good book about food and especially gardening. What I don't enjoy is a bunch if food moralization and judgement particularly towards the author's parents. Get over the parent blaming. It sounds so whiny. They did the best with what they knew at the time. Eat more nutrient-dense foods or not. It doesn't make you a better person.
