Editorial reviews

What do you do when an informant supplies you information about murders that have yet to happen? For Miami Tribune reporter Micahel Posten, this hypothetical becomes all too real in The Informant. With a rich and commanding delivery, veteran performer James Naughton puts listeners right into the thick of this thriller from master of suspense James Grippando. When Posten gets in too deep with his informant, he must work with the FBI on a fast-paced and unpredictable hunt for a ravenous serial killer. Listeners will be frozen over the pause button as Grippando works his magic in another absorbing thrill ride.

Publisher's summary

By the author of the best-selling The Pardon, this fast-paced novel teams a resourceful FBI agent and an embattled journalist in a hunt for two men, a serial killer and his elusive informant.

When an informer chooses Miami Tribune crime reporter Michael Posten as his conduit, giving him information about murders that haven't yet taken place, investigators speculate on whether the killer and informer are the same person. As the newspaper continues to deposit larger sums into the killer's account, FBI agent Victoria Santos and the reluctant journalist join forces to prevent the next gruesome murder. But then dues stop and the murders continue...until a psychopath makes one mistake too many. This gripping, unpredictable story of revenge will not be soon forgotten.

A Serial Killer's Capture

Edge of seat. This guy was very careful, but too much of an egotist. That got him in the end. Storyline was interesting and kept me listening. Several surprises throughout. I enjoyed Naughten as the narrator.

Just NOT believable

I really liked 'Last to Die', but this book was terrible. The writing was fine, but the plot was just not believable. It really boils down to how the FBI works and how they would handle informants, serial killers, and HRT. In ?The Informant?, Grippando could not have butchered the function of the FBI any more. I found myself thinking, there is just no way that could happen.

Avoid this book.
