She wanted the perfect wedding. But someone would kill to keep them apart....

Taking a deep breath of the fresh, leafy air, Abigail promises herself: Today she is going to make her parents accept her future husband Pete’s family.

She’s planned three days away from it all in a beautiful, forested nature reserve. Out here, with almost no one else around, their families will have nowhere to run. They might have clashed from the moment they met—with their stark differences in backgrounds and personalities—but now, Abigail thinks, they will have to get along.

They barely have a chance to bond though, before the trip starts to go wrong. Precious possessions go astray, including Abigail’s father’s medicine; dark family secrets are exposed; and threatening messages are found. One says, "Watch your back...."

Abigail had been so sure that getting them all together and showing everyone that she and Pete are the perfect couple was the answer to all their problems. But the wedding isn’t the only thing under threat.

Because one of their party won’t make it out alive....

A completely and utterly gripping psychological thriller, perfect for fans of Gone Girl, The Marriage, and The Silent Patient.

This story was great. The different perspectives from the characters was good, but the narrator didn't do very well changing her voice to indicate the new perspective was male which made it a little confusing at first.
I was hooked on the story right from the start. It's been a long time that a story has kept me in it and caught me off guard so many times. Loved it.

Very well written

Well it’s ok its very long and drags on its predictable not very suspenseful either. The beginning seemed good and the middle to the end fizzled out. It’s a good background story when doing other things.

I had to listen to this book because my sister in laws name is also Laura Wolfe. I am glad that I did. I really like psychological thrillers. I’m a little concerned though, did they ever find his body? I was expecting him to show back up at the end.

I listened to the entirety of the story, so it did keep me captivated enough. However, there were just too many moving pieces, too many angles, and not in the "oh my goodness there are so many twists that keep you guessing!" kind of way. And the reminiscing portion just seemed a little out of place for where it was included in the book. I did guess early on who was truly behind it, but again, too many moving pieces. And while the narrator did an adequate job delivering the story, she isn't really my favorite. At times it seemed a little monotonous/flat in delivery. It needed more inflection or something. I listened to it while working, so it did help pass the time while I was intrigued enough to find out how it ended, but overall I was not really impressed.

Meh..
