Engaging and Beautifully Narrated

The Illuminator's Gift is a very well written fantasy book. Alina's characters are realistic and very human. You can see each person grow throughout the story as they encounter new challenges and make new discoveries. I connected with the characters and they became my friends. I booed when characters were bullied. I laughed when they did. Cried when they did. This book allows you to feel the range of emotions felt by each character. I would recommend this book.
Also of note: the narrator has an amazing voice and was superb! I would happily listen to almost any book she narrates.

Monotone reader

The whispering monotone voice of the reader made this wonderful story boring and hard to pay attention. Better off to read it yourself.

Adventures on a flying ship

A young orphan girl named Ellie only wants one thing in life, a family. She and her friend leave the orphanage and climb aboard a flying ship called Legend. Here they meet two boys, a captain and a crew member who acts as doctor and botanist. Their journey was delayed as they go to another archipelago which is doomed, to try and save as many people as they could. Here they meet a lady librarian who also becomes a member of the ship’s crew. The crew make up Ellie’s new family. Their journey doesn’t continue as planned however as another mission is given to them. Even with Ellie’s powerful gift can she save her new family and the known world from a deadly enemy. This book is ideal for the teenage market, but it is a good listen for any age. The narrator has a soothing voice which is ideal for this story. I look forward to others in this series.

Absolutely spellbinding

There was nothing I disliked about this captivating adventure. Originally purchased for my children I found myself listening for hours after they were asleep. ... only to look forward to, relished and enjoy again the next night with them. Highly, highly recommended. Beautifully written, delightfully spoken and your own imagination will be drawn from within you by these woven together. I didn’t want it to end.
