Good story!

Very creative, well thought out. Nice exposure to Sicily, which I've not previously had. I could relate to the experience of losing a child, how that never stops being haunting. Narration was excellent.

The Ancestral Inheritance

This mystery was not what I expected when I began listening but oh how I enjoyed unraveling of the family history, tragedies, and the resolution of their mysteries.

Intriguing read

I enjoyed this immensely. I would listen to this again. The narrator was easy to follow and really stepped into the main character’s role. The story itself was absorbing and realistic.

Slow burn, GREAT ending!

This started a little slow for me but kept picking up the pace more and more. By the end I was yelling in disbelief! There were only slim parts that were predictable and then surprise after surprise that tied it all together. Narration was great, loved learning about Sicily, great scene setting without going on too long. This book was FANTASTIC!

Loved this book!

I was so engrossed in this book from the beginning and I kept thinking oh no, don’t let it go that way, or this way. The twists were great and the descriptions of the villa and Sicily were lovely.

Excellent story with vivid descriptions

The storyline kept me engaged until the very end. The vivid descriptions transported me to the vila. The ghost story was secondary to the emotional journey of the main protagonist. The exploration of how mis-guided hate can rob someone of precious experiences was beautifully written. Definitely recommend.

Heartwarming, as well as a darn good mystery

I almost gave up on this book a little way in, because there was a repetitive theme with one of the main characters that I found grating. However! I am beyond happy that I stuck with it - it actually turned out to be central to the story line so I’m very glad I put aside my petty judgements and allowed this story to carry me away. Thoroughly felt like i knew the characters once the “hysterical” narrative stopped. Plot twists were interesting but a bit too many “weird” scenarios for one novel.
