Publisher's Summary

Tension is high at the Royal Institute of Magic, as the directors of each of the departments - Spellswords, Wardens, Traders, Scholars and Diplomats - work together with their allies to push back the dark elf invasion, led by King Suktar.

But Ben Greenwood knows the truth: the only real way they are going to win is if he and the Guardians do the unthinkable and infiltrate the heart of the dark elf homeland - ending the evil king’s rule once and for all.

As if that wasn’t enough, a new power has come into play. Queen Elizabeth was aware of it all those years ago, and she predicted it would continue to influence their mission to the bitter end: the High Council.

Can the Guardians harness the strange magic of the armour? And will it really be enough to bring down such a powerful wizard as the dark elf king? In a race against time, and with his friends beside him, Ben Greenwood must face his greatest challenge yet.

The High Council is the sixth and final book in the Royal Institute of Magic series.

Can't get enough!

This series from start to finish was one of the best stories I have ever had the pleasure to read. I read it twice though and already want to read it again. Great character growth, witty and endearing plot and twists and turns to keep you coming back for more. Only downside is I felt the final book left a lot of unanswered questions that are never going to be answered.

excellent

I just found this series a couple weeks ago. I listen to audiobooks all day while I'm at work, I was really getting into this series so I did some research and was so sorry to hear of the loss of the author, I wish the family the best and hope to hear more on the series.

Different kind of magic

This is the last in the series but it was just as good as the other books an engaging story with people and unseen kingdom magical beings as friends and unlikely hero s to save the world. There is lots of action, sword fighting and magic spells in this as they make thier way across the unseen kingdoms to fight the dark elf king, the nice thing about this series it is also about family and friends and how important that is. My kids liked listening as we drive to their practices 15,13,9,5 boys and girls. A very good family book.

Excellent Final Chapter - wonderful adventure

This series will be an enduring legacy for Victor Kloss and his family. Perfect for all ages. Love Harry Potter, but this is much better written, much more uplifting. Simply excellent.

Satisfying conclusion

I have so enjoyed this series and this final book is no exception. Just when you think “oh surely this is the end”, Victor takes another unexpected turn and there’s more story to love. Peter does a masterful job of bringing the whole cast of characters to life. My only real regret is that this is Victor’s final book. I would have loved to hear more from him.

Good Effort

Well performed by Peter Kenny. A good effort to bring the series to a close after the death of Victor Kloss.
