Publisher's Summary

Rich boys don’t fraternize with the help.
They don't torture the help.
They don't crave the help.

For as long as I can remember, my mom and I have lived on the edge of ruin, so when she finally gets a decent job offer, she moves us cross-country to take it.

Who cares if it means working as a live-in housekeeper for a man wealthier than God? The paycheck is good, and it comes with a roof over our heads.

She even manages to get me enrolled in the fancy prep academy his son goes to - the kind that spits out future CEOs and politicians like a vending machine.

But this new town has a few things my old one didn’t....

Like secrets that could get a person killed, and four of the hottest, meanest guys I’ve ever met.

I might live in their world now, but I am not a part of it, and they’ll do whatever it takes to remind me of that.

We go to school together, live together, and share a dangerous secret, but as far as Lincoln, River, Dax, and Chase are concerned...

I’m just the help.

Author's note: The Help is a reverse-harem high-school bully romance, the first book in the Kings of Linwood Academy trilogy. It contains cursing and sexual situations.

Uhhhh this author must watch kdramas

If the kdrama heirs and boys over flowers were to have a baby, this would be the product. It's too similar to be a coincidence. It's an interesting book though.

Waste of time

the writing was sub par at best ive read free novels written by amateurs with no editors that was better than this. She over used the F word. There are other words in the english language. The plot is all over the place and im quitting an hour before its over not sure if there has been any character growth or where the heck this book is going. Im very disapointed.

I can only handle the narrators voice for so long. Especially when she imitates the male characters. I cringed every time.

Overall 3 stars

I would consider this book a tamer bully romance. If you've never listened to one it may be a good start. The story was interesting but I had trouble connecting with the main characters. I think it's mostly due to being told things vs shown. We are told how her relationship develops with the boys but I wanted to see it all unfold. Because of this when feelings are discussed I have a hard time buying it. With that said I'm continuing because I have to know how it ends and I did like the story...just didn't fall in love with it.

Narrator was good although sometimes she sounded a little nasally.

Great book

Unfortunately the narrator on this book is not very good even though as I listened she either got better or I just got used to her. Loved the story and that cliffhanger. Here’s hoping she can get another narrator for the next book.

That Betrayal 😧

Linc, Dax, Chase, and River have just made an enemy of Harlow. How can she ever forgive this 4 boys who have tormented her and whom she came to eventually care for. Looking forward to finishing the series and see how Harlow can forgive and maybe possible love these guys again.

Waste of money

Wish I read the reviews first. Rushing to find a new RH which this book is not. Usually avoid high school books and this is the reminder of why, written like a kid not young woman. It’s all one point of view which I hate and single narrator makes it worse. Add insult to injury I purchased the whisper sinc because it was a “deal” and can’t even return this crap.

this is not your typical bully romance

Harlow has beat cancer. Her mom is still working to pay off the medical bills and just wants the best for her. When her mom lands an amazing job, with Harlow as her assistant, things start to look up. But the employers son, Lincoln has other plans. Harlow is able to go to an exclusive school, but the kids are not as accepting of her. This is an enemies to lovers romance, but the route to get there is not a straight line. Harlow is tortured by the mean girls and she stands strong, until a nightmare begins. This is when the story changes from just a highschool romance to one suspenseful story of heros and a heroine. The drama is just as intense. I binged this series because each had a cliffhanger, but it was so good, I could not stop.

Amanda Stirling brought this story to life. I felt as if I was living the story through her narration. Harlow is one strong girl and Stirling brings that out. Stirling has an easy to listen to voice. Her male characters are smooth and realistic sounding. I hope to hear more from Amanda Stirling.

Good start...... Book 1

Harlow gets on my nerves, she's not as switched on as she thinks. The ending was so stupid, I'm not sure what she expected from the four guys. She hardly knows them and they haven't been nicest to her. also her whining gets on my nerves and whiny voice, I just want to slap some sense into her. Fingers crossed book 2 is better. Hopefully, Harlow grows a pair and gets her smart girl pants on.

Great start to the series.

The Help starts off strong with plenty of content and an intense plot that ends on one huge cliffhanger. I like Harlow, though she is very trusting and I would have liked her to fight her own corner more. I liked Harlow's mum. The rest of the characters got on my nerves for different reasons, but given the nature of the story, I think that is a good thing.
Amanda Stribling delivered a really strong performance throughout with great voice acting that held me in the moment for the whole audiobook.

What next?

This book had me constantly asking that.. What next? What could possibly happen next?

I will keep this as spoiler free as possible but the fact that all of them were together when it happened and they witnessed it all seems too coincidental. However, the story definitely kept me intrigued and wanting to know where things would end up.

I didn't see the cliffhanger coming, I mean I should have but I was entangled in the story and not realizing the book was almost over so when the cliffhanger hit and the book stopped I just sat there, and then realized that was the end. My mouth about hit the floor, how can you leave a book like that? How can you just stop there? It was like cruel torture. But I live for that! Ha call me a sadist if you will but it gets my adrenaline pumping.

The reverse harem aspect isn't what it seems in this book and makes me wonder if there will be more of a development throughout the next book.

The bullying aspect however seemed to be a bit over the top for me. Almost as if the author was trying to force it.

Now, with all that being said overall I would give this book a solid 4 stars. It was good, but not great. I hope to see more of a development in the next book.. for the relationships, the characters.. all of it. I want there to be more depth. I will say though, I was surprised by the back story of Harlow. That was a new twist. The troubles she's faced in such a short life are things nobody ever wants to face, but she came, she conquered, and she lived to tell the tale.

Amanda Stribling did a wonderful job on the narration of this book. Her voice was soothing and easy to listen to. She made the story more real, the emotions were felt through her voice.

Not my favorite.

I loved the narration, but the story is not my favorite, and perhaps far from it. I found the protagonist rather pretentious, with no particular development throughout the story, and her harem honestly got to my nerves. Rich bad boys with an attitude get boring real quick. At least for me.

What an ending!

I see that this author really likes writing reverse harem as well as high school bullying, straight on to book 2 no waiting, I need to hear where this goes.

Narration is good, there where only minor issues.

Where Does The Help Go From Here???

"The Help" by Callie Rose, is Book 1 of a Trilogy, is a very intense, mystery, suspense, romance novel that involves the daughter of the help and for young men she attends high school with.

A murder occurs and the wrong person is arrested for it. How it's played out continues in book 2; "The Lie."

The narrator Amanda Stribling gives a stellar performance, she's the whole package + more.

Of course, I recommend this novel to others. I can't wait until I'm ears deep into book 2.

AMAZING

This was an awesome bully romance. I had actual tears in my eyes by the end of this book. The narration was fantastic and really helped add that extra bit of description to the characters. But it ends on a cliffhanger! Having said that, I would still recommend it because this was an awesome story. This book covers romance, betrayal, and the idea of how growing up a certain way makes your way of seeing the world different. I loved how each character was written differently and not always perfect. If you have read the blurb and love to read bully romance books then I would definitely recommend this to you. Enjoy!
