The voice that spoke the cosmos into existence is the same voice that parted the Red Sea and made the sun stand still in the midday sky. One day, this voice will make all things new, but it’s also speaking to you now! That voice is God’s, and what we’ve learned from Scripture is that He often speaks in a whisper. Not to make it difficult to hear Him, but to draw us close. Sure, in ancient times and in mysterious ways, God spoke to His people, but is He still speaking now? Mark Batterson certainly believes so. And he wants to introduce you to the seven love languages of God.

Story
As believers in Jesus Christ, we naturally want to know how we can hear God’s voice. Does God speak? Is He speaking to you? The good news is, yes, He is speaking. And like a radio host broadcasting His voice into the airwaves, God speaks all the time. The question is, are we tuned in to the right frequency? God communicates with us in multiple ways, whether through the Bible, through circumstances, or even through a whisper. Pastor Robert Morris demonstrates how we can grow in our faith, maturing from sheep hearing His voice to hearing it as His friend or even as a prophet.

He came to the realization that waiting for absolute certainty from God before making decisions may seem uberspiritual, but it can lead to a life of intense stress, paralyzing fear, and crushing regret - just the opposite of the freedom granted to those living a Christ-filled life.

God then lovingly invited her to discover true rest in his presence as she learned to live as the Beloved.

This book has little to do with songwriting
I gave this book over 30 minutes to hopefully get in to some real songwriting tips and heard very little. The author is preoccupied with preaching about God and how God created music for us.
I'm a church going Christian, but bought this book to pick up a few new songwriting tips. Unfortunately, I don't feel like that's what I got. I only received a sermon and stories about how God has inspired the author to write.
Complete waste of my time and money...

Heart in the Art
“God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Sam 16:7)
David Baroni, from the heart, communicates “heart” and insight on the “art” from that perspective and does so with humility and clarity.
If you are a song writer or aspire to be…then this audiobook will serve you in the process and will give a treasured insight from one who has been graced to pen a myriad of outstanding and timeless songs. But more… far more…the listener will hear - heart. The art will improve with use but it is the heart that gives the art its power.
What a joy to invest less than 10 dollars to spend time with such a treasure.
An easy ROI of time and money!

Not worth the price, even if it’s free.
Somehow I listened to the entire audiobook. I don’t know why I put myself through such torture. This book has very little to do with songwriting. It’s a sermon, and not a good sermon at that. There are better resources on Christian music than this, if that’s what you’re interested in. I expected more from such an accomplished composer/songwriter.

A sermon rather than a book about songwriting.
Would you be willing to try another one of David Baroni’s performances?
No
Any additional comments?
Unfortunately this book focuses primarily on preaching religious doctrine and it's references to song rather than enlightening the reader on principles of songwriting. I feel the author should have made this clear in the synopsis as this purchase, for me, was a waste of money.

Out of the Dark is Mandisa’s exploration of the journey she’s taken from when she first became a Christian to her rise as an American Idol finalist and receiving multiple Grammy and Dove Award nominations, as well as the dark and challenging times she experienced along the way. She writes personally and openly about the hardships she has faced and the way she felt betrayed by God, but also about how God has brought her out of the valley into His glorious light. Along the way, she also shares her struggles in learning how to love her body and care for her health.

Story
In True Worshipers, a seasoned pastor and musician guides listeners toward a more engaging, transformative, and biblically faithful understanding of the worship God is seeking. True worship is an activity rooted in the grace of the Gospel that affects every area of our lives. And while worship is more than just singing, God's people gathering in his presence to lift their voices in song is an activity that is biblically based, historically rooted, and potentially life changing.

Story
In this noisy, distracting world, it is difficult to truly hear. People talk past each other, eager to be heard but somehow deaf to what is being said. Listening is an essential skill for healthy relationships, both with God and with other people. But it is more than that: listening is a way of life. Adam McHugh places listening at the heart of our spirituality, our relationships and our mission in the world. God himself is the God who hears, and we, too, can learn to hear what God may be saying through creation, through Scripture, through people.

Changing Your World: The Effect of Praise on Our Surroundings takes listeners into the sanctuary where they receive teaching that creates a desire to learn how to change their world by worshiping the Lord with passion and priority. Unpacking Psalm 84, Bill Johnson teaches what it means to long for God with our entire body, soul, and spirit: “How lovely is Your tabernacle, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God” (vs. 1-2).

Story
Not everyone may frequent the church on the corner, but we each have a place of worship. For some, it's at the office. For others, before the mirror. Still others, on the basketball court. You were created to worship! So you naturally find a place to do it. But to worship anything less than God robs both Him and us. It's at the foot of the cross where we reel, trying to comprehend how a holy God could chase us down with kindness and redeem us from an eternity of futile gods.

It's time to leave the leadership obsession behind. It's never been about leading. “Leadership” has become a runaway obsession for those who are called to equip the body of Christ for service in the Kingdom of God. The concept of “followership” is all but lost in the wake of this leadership fetish, a near hypnotic obsession. Jesus’ clear call, and the pattern of New Testament leadership, are actually found in a pattern of followership. We’ve been told otherwise but when it comes to a movement in our churches, our families, or the workplace, everything rises or falls on followership.

"Perhaps God isn't giving me the plan because He wants to be the plan." This was the aha moment for Mike Donehey after years of wrestling with his obsession to know God's specific plans for his life. He came to the realization that waiting for absolute certainty from God before making decisions may seem uberspiritual, but it can lead to a life of intense stress, paralyzing fear, and crushing regret - just the opposite of the freedom granted to those living a Christ-filled life.
