Publisher's Summary

Intrigue, riches, and romance abound in this thrilling sequel to the New York Times best-selling The Inheritance Games.

The Inheritance Games ended with a bombshell, and now heiress Avery Grambs has to pick up the pieces and find the man who might hold the answers to all of her questions - including why Tobias Hawthorne left his entire fortune to Avery, a virtual stranger, rather than to his own daughters or grandsons.

Thanks to a DNA test, Avery knows that she’s not a Hawthorne by blood, but clues pile up hinting at a deeper connection to the family than she had ever imagined. As the mystery grows and the plot thickens, Grayson and Jameson, two of the enigmatic and magnetic Hawthorne grandsons, continue to pull Avery in different directions. And there are threats lurking around every corner, as adversaries emerge who will stop at nothing to see Avery out of the picture - by any means necessary.

With nonstop action, aspirational jet-setting, Knives Out-like family intrigue, swoon-worthy romance, and billions of dollars hanging in the balance, The Hawthorne Legacy will thrill Jennifer Lynn Barnes fans and new listeners alike.

I was here for the ride!

Fantastic follow up to the first book. I forgot how much I really liked the first book until I re-listened to it prior to this books release. LOVED IT! The pace of it is fast and wonderful, I love the complicated nature of the family, and loved hearing everything unfold. Well done!

A fantastic second book in the trilogy!!!

This series is so well written! It grabs you from the beginning of book one, and when that book ends you need book two immediately! Book two also grabs you right away and keeps your attention until the end, when you are dying for book three!!!
The plot flows beautifully with the mystery, relationships and suddenly growing up in the line light! There are no slow moments in the story at all! The characters are so amazing!! They are well rounded, in depth characters that you love to love and love to hate!! They are young adults living in a very wealthy world, with a large estate with tunnels, mazes, secret passageways, walled off secret rooms and lots of clues and puzzles to solve!!! It’s such an intriguing game!!!

The narrator is fantastic at bringing the author’s story to life!!

Yassss

SOoo good! I've already pre-ordered the third book!!! I NEVER do that! I HIGHLY suggest listening to these! It's really great narrations which make the book so much more enjoyable. I struggle when the narrator kinda sucks but for these books it's no worries there!

The Hawthorne Legacy

In my experience most secondary novels in a trilogy feel like filler and can sometimes lack the spark that first drew you in. This was absolutely not the case with The Hawthorne Legacy. Just when you think you have figured out which game is being played you are thrown back and fourth into so many enticing directions. This is a delightful adventure that continues to keep you guessing. New players, new foes, and a wonderful new mystery carries this novel beautifully. Avery’s character is still as well written and complex as before. I loved reading every last moment of this exciting dive into wealth and privilege. There is more to every persons story and origin and I can wait to see how it will all end.

Would rather read than listen to it with this narrator

The narration could’ve been a lot better. It was a little monotone and took away from the story a little bit so I switched to reading it on my kindle and it was so much better.
