The wrestling legend Bob "Hardcore" Holly tells all in this autobiography that chronicles his journey from fighting in bars for money to the bright lights of the World Wrestling Federation. Holly reveals how he took more body slams and clotheslines outside the ring than in and that long before he was known as "Hardcore Holly", he had an unquenchable passion for professional wrestling.

Ultimately, Holly would hold the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hardcore Championship seven times, the WWE Tag Team Championship three times, and the National Wrestling Alliance World Tag Team Championship once. But in the midst of his career achievements was a roller coaster of success and frustration, and Holly reveals the plethora of missed opportunities and broken promises that marked his road to television stardom. Replete with fast motorcycles, faster cars, wrestling bears, betrayal, and lost love, Holly shares his uncompromised view of his past and the current state of professional wrestling.

out of all the wrestling books I've read this one was by far one of the best ever! it's nice getting an inside book of the business without the author feeling intimidated by WWE - meaning that they are going to lose their job or keep from getting a job in the future because quite frankly Bob Holly is a man's man and he don't give a rat's ass what WWE thinks or anybody for that matter. I highly recommend!

fan or not..a inside look (without WWE influence)

I was always a fan ofBob the wrestler. Now I’m a fan of the man. Old school wrestling has always been where it’s at with me. Bob’s old school and tough as nails. Great insight into the man.

Highly entertaining

Loved it from start to finish. Holly was a midcard wrestler with main event potential.

Bob Holly was coming into the WWE as I was losing interest in the WWE. I knew who he was but not much more than that. Listening to his story was very cool to me. Being a WWE mark for the 80s and early 90s, I love hearing the behind the scenes stories. Bob comes off as a very real and authentic person. I suggest giving this book a listen.

Great book for any wrestling fan.

I was always a fan of Bob's, from the cheesy NASCAR gimmick up until his departure and I'm glad that he wrote this book. Bob strikes me as a man that tells the truth and doesn't care what you think.....to him the truth is the truth and sometimes the truth hurts so suck it up. Bob 'Hardcore Holly' Howard is a hard working man that prides himself on his abilities and ethics and that comes across in this book. His stories of his life in the WWF/E are raw and honest, and his insights into the business are spot on. Love him or hate him....Hardcore tells you how it is.

This really is 'The Hardcore Truth'

What made the experience of listening to The Hardcore Truth the most enjoyable?

Bob Holly's brutal honesty. I am an investigator and can confidentially say that I know bullshit when I hear it and the stories in this book do not come across as bullshit.

What did you like best about this story?

Bob's personal feelings about other wrestlers.

What about Brian Holsopple’s performance did you like?

Great performance, but I would have preferred hearing Bob himself

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The stories about Owen Hart, Chris Beniot, and Eddie Guererro

Any additional comments?

Greatest opening sentence in literary history.

Honest
