Love the story but........

I've always been a huge Dusty fan, so I'm not surprised that I liked the stories included in the book. I also liked the casual nature of the story and that it felt conversational.

The performance of this book was atrocious. I was continually taken out of the enjoyment of the story by the narrator outrageously mispronouncing the names of all the wrestlers. It was annoying and unnecessary.

Dusty Ego

Some great stories but his ego is even more epic than those. Wrestling fans will like it.

Too many mispronounced names by narrator!!

Narrator obviously had no knowledge of wrestling history. He mispronounced almost every name in the book. Really took me out of the stories.

Good book, TERRIBLE narration

Great stories from one of the all time greats in wrestling. The narrator though may be THE WORST of all time. He reads in a fake, overly exaggerated southern accent with mispronunciations galore. He obviously did ZERO research on how to pronounce names, towns, etc. Just GOD AWFUL.

reader needs to learn how to pronouncethe names in the book. even simple names were messed up

Worst narrator ever!

Absolutely clueless on every single name! I understand some names are difficult, but do a little research. And the fake Texas accent is almost too much to listen to. I’ve bought dozens of audible books, and this is the first negative review I’ve given. I will never buy a book narrated by this dude again.

Dusty Deserves Better

Dusty Rhodes is an icon in the world of professional wresting and deserves so much better than this poor narration. The narrator mispronounces even the the most common of names. A little research on the part of narrator before recording this book could have helped tremendously.

Wonderful story, atrocious narration.

I love the American dream Dusty Rhodes. It was a wonderful story and very heartwarming. But the narrator is the worst I have ever heard. On top of speaking in a fake southern accent he mispronounced every famous persons name in the book. Like by a mile. It made it incredibly difficult to enjoy.

it's Ole (o lee ) not oil narrator sucks

as a dusty fan since I was a wee kid wanted to be dusty love the stories
but the worst narrator with the worst southern accent in the world and could not get names right smh

Needed Research

The story is good and its nice to hear Dusty’s story but the narrator should have learned how to say the names of the people referenced. Its was very distracting and sometimes I had to take a moment to figure out who he was talking about.
