Great continuation of the story line

Would you listen to The Guardians: The New Homefront, Volume 2 again? Why?

I really liked book 2, I love series where you can get to know the characters, their strong points, the parts of them you love.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters and their will to work together.

Did Patrick Freeman do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I didn't love the narration.

It's patriots revisited.

Pretty much just like patriots. Super religious undertones, predictable story line. Good guys always win. Nothing to see here. Stop at the first one.

Narration and story stunk

Narration was super annoying and nasally. Story lacked any depth at all. Wish I wouldn't have purchased.

Loved the first book

Would you try another book from Steven C. Bird and/or Patrick Freeman?

yes I would provided return is still an option, 1st book I really liked, this one not so muc.

Has The Guardians: The New Homefront, Volume 2 turned you off from other books in this genre?

no, if there is a third edition I would be willing to give it a listen

How could the performance have been better?

from the start it turned me off and I could not finish it

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

my Thoughts; What Happened, did some else write this one ? is this author a 1 hit wonder

Any additional comments?

For some reason I cannot return it and I will have to call about this problem, I go through a minimum of 7 books a week, I spend lots of money and expect better

Should Have Quit After First Book

What disappointed you about The Guardians: The New Homefront, Volume 2?

Painful, implausible dialogue. Might read better, but tedious as an audible.

What could Steven C. Bird have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Maintain the clarity and the purpose of the first book. Make the instructions less obvious. Re-write and edit dialog until it sounds like a conversation that real people would have.

Did Patrick Freeman do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yeah, not bad. He obviously didn't have much to work with though.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Guardians: The New Homefront, Volume 2?

Stick with one story that has it's own back stories. The two separate story lines just does not make sense, and since I'm not reading another of these books it matters not if they come together later.

More challenges arise for the characters

We’re introduced to more characters in this book. We’re able to get to know them and follow their journey, while also keeping up with those on the homefront. Society is still breaking down and although the Guardians are somewhat secluded, they are not immune to its impacts. Evan and Jason still find themselves unable to really decrease security, and while all the inhabitants near and on the homefront are doing their best, not all of them will make it through.

If you can't be a whiny coot....

I grew up on farms and working land and the story was decent but the narration killed it. I've not heard of a bigger bunch of poor cry babies. Holy smokes. I wanted to help them all wipe their Moses I mean noses. Horrible performance. amazing how these people can manage shooting a animal to feed themselves when they can't figure out how to not sound like a bunch a babies talking about something as simple as coffee or beer.
