How do Christians grow? Few question the call of the Bible to grow in godliness, but the answer to exactly how this happens is often elusive. In this audiobook, Dane Ortlund points believers to Christ, making the case that sanctification does not happen by doing more or becoming better, but by going deeper into the wondrous gospel truths that washed over them when they were first united to him.

What to do when they say they’re Christian but don’t know Jesus. Whether it’s the Christmas and Easter Christians or the faithful church attenders whose hearts are cold toward the Lord, we’ve all encountered cultural Christians. They’d check the Christian box on a survey, they’re fine with church, but the truth is, they’re far from God. So how do we bring Jesus to this overlooked mission field? The Unsaved Christian equips you to confront cultural Christianity with honesty, compassion, and grace, whether you’re doing it from the pulpit or the pews.

In Confronting Jesus, Rebecca McLaughlin shares important biblical context to help all listeners see why the Gospels should be taken seriously as historical documents. Exploring eyewitness testimony about Jesus, McLaughlin points to him as a first-century Jewish man who is the Son of God, King of the Jews, mighty healer, greatest teacher, lover of sinners, suffering servant, perfect sacrifice, and universal Lord.

Is there a new reformation happening in the church? It depends on who you ask. The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a popular and fast-growing new movement of Christians who emphasize signs and wonders, and teach that God is giving new revelation through new apostles and prophets. But is this biblical Christianity? In Counterfeit Kingdom, apologists and NAR experts Holly Pivec and Douglas Geivett show how the NAR’s key tenets distort the gospel, twist the Scriptures, are influenced by New Age practices, and lead faithful Christians to shipwreck their faith.

Publisher's Summary
Not every lie sounds untrue.
Some lies are repeated so often they seem to be common sense. That's why lies about God are so dangerous. The Gospel According to Satan examines eight lies the enemy wants us to believe and provides eight lines of counterattack against them. The lies include:
- God just wants you to be happy,
- you only live once,
- you need to live your truth, and
- just let go and let God.
Jared C. Wilson reveals why these lies appeal to us, shows how they harm us, and provides ways to counteract them. We can renounce Satan's counterfeit gospel, but first we must see it for what it is.
Accompanying charts are available in the audiobook companion PDF download.
"Enumerates the major ways the Devil uses his cunning and calculating ways of luring us off the narrow road of God's grace. We will all do well to read this book and confront the lies we are being sold." (Kyle Idleman, senior pastor of Southeast Christian Church and author of Not a Fan and Don’t Give Up)
"A unique, compelling, and even witty look at the devil's current greatest hits - lies we urgently need to unmask." (Sam Allberry, speaker for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries and author of 7 Myths About Singleness and Why Does God Care Who I Sleep With?)
"One of the most thought-provoking writers in the Christian world today.... He doesn’t just describe the tantalizing falsehoods of our age, he exposes how they've slithered into our hearts." (Matt Smethurst, managing editor at The Gospel Coalition and author of Before You Open Your Bible)

What lies are you believing?
As a pastor, I did enjoy Wilson’s summary of the eight lies Satan tries to sell to the church and to the world. It was informative and helpful to say the least. Was it ground breaking? No. But it was a good book to remind us of the devil’s schemes and how he tries to influence our hearts, minds, and souls.
I’m not Reformed, so I disagree with some of his theological points. He is a huge advocate with PSA and he may be correct. But he failed to research recapitulation atonement held by the early church and present it in his book. In Wilson’s mind, we must have violence to gain forgiveness with God. You may agree with him and I would say more power to you.
Overall, if you’re interested in discovering how Satan is planning against you and I and want to combat the lies from hell, this would be a good book for you to listen too. Enjoy!

Necessary Corrective Truth
The Gospel According to Satan is a grace-filled, yet convicting book that pokes at the beliefs we Christians hold that are contrary to what God has actually said in Scripture. A week after listening, I'm still ruminating on some things that the Lord is working on correcting in me.
Jared's writing is accessible for anyone, but filled with thought-provoking spiritual truths and always the Gospel of Jesus.
The narrator was good, but I would have preferred to listen to the author narrate his own book.
Highly recommend.

It is written, very well in fact
Jared C. Wilson is very adept at pointing out the ways in which the devil manipulates people and if that were the conclusion of the matter what a sorrowful fate it would be for us all. But for those in Christ hope abounds! As wicked and deceitful as Satan is how much more (beyond measure) is Christ Jesus good and perfect and true. We can, and do have hope in the 2nd Adam and therefore, be more than conquerors against the lies and schemes of the devil. An excellent listen and encouragement.

Satan resides within each of us, manifesting as a recurrent little voice of uncertainty. The tests that he puts before us are a means to help us grow.

Story
It’s been said that the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing us that he doesn't exist. Using the literary device of an “as told by” autobiography, the Kabbalah Centre reveals the concept of the Adversary, which plays a major role in kabbalistic teachings. Satan resides within each of us, manifesting as a recurrent little voice of uncertainty. The tests that he puts before us are a means to help us grow.

Satanism is a pathway to cognitive illumination through the application of magical concepts and operations for higher self-awareness, personal knowledge acquisition, spiritual freedom, and individual evolution. Satanic rites and rituals are the methods used by practitioners to "bridge the gap" between the physical world, which is limited to three dimensions, and the spiritual world which is limitless.

Story
The average Christian in America does not know what his own religion teaches, nor does he care. He may call himself “Christian”, but he lives his life exactly as he wishes, making no attempt to conform his conduct to the commands and tenets of his religion. Daily Wire writer Matt Walsh confronts his fellow Christians in this bold, clear-eyed book that serves as an urgent reminder of Matthew 7:13 - "For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it."

The Satanic Narratives: A Modern Satanic Bible is a foundational text thoroughly deconstructing Satan, the adversarial archetype and the individualism of the Left-Hand Path. This updated Satanic Bible marks a reformation in the religion of Satanism, accessible to the average listener and philosopher alike. Satanists who struggled to find meaning in LaVey's Rand-inspired social Darwinism, will embrace this new focus on activism and social justice.

Story
Genuine Satanism had nothing to do with the supernatural devil nonsense. The primary and most persistent misconception about Satanism and Satanists is that we believe in and worship an anthropomorphic or spiritual being known as "Satan" or the "devil". This is false. We Satanists are atheists who adopt "Satan" as a symbol of passion, pride, liberty, and heroic rebellion in the tradition of the proto-Satanic themed poetry and writing of Giosuè Carducci, Lord Byron, John Milton, Benjamin DeCasseres, Mark Twain, and others that predate the founding of the Church of Satan.

Story
Elaine Pagels explores the surprising history of the most controversial book of the Bible. In the waning days of the Roman Empire, militant Jews in Jerusalem had waged anall-out war against Rome’s occupation of Judea, and their defeat resulted in the desecration of the Great Temple in Jerusalem. In the aftermath of that war, John of Patmos, a Jewish prophet and follower of Jesus, wrote the Book of Revelation, prophesying God’s judgment on the pagan empire that devastated and dominated his people.
