Publisher's summary

In this twisty thriller from the New York Times best-selling master of suspense, reward-seeker Colter Shaw infiltrates a sinister cult after learning that the only way to get somebody out...is to go in.

In the wilderness of Washington State, expert tracker Colter Shaw has located two young men accused of a terrible hate crime. But when his pursuit takes a shocking and tragic turn, Shaw becomes desperate to discover what went so horribly wrong and if he is to blame.

Shaw's search for answers leads him to a shadowy organization that bills itself as a grief support group. But is it truly it a community that consoles the bereaved? Or a dangerous cult with a growing body count?

Undercover, Shaw joins the mysterious group, risking everything despite the fact that no reward is on offer. He soon finds that some people will stop at nothing to keep their secrets hidden...and to make sure that he or those close to him say "good-bye" forever.

Good story, but too much time spent on cult leader’s speeches.

Cult leader’s many speeches got old after a while. Liked the story otherwise. Short stories and first book were better.

Not Deavers Best

Could have been so much better. Followed the same 'greedy, horny, evil cult leader' story line you've already read a couple times.

Another Great Thriller

Best-selling and award-winning thriller author Jeffery Deaver returns with the second book in his new Colter Shaw series. After the complete success of the first novel, The Never Game, released one year ago, Mr. Deaver brings us another adventure filled with action, mystery, interesting characters, a captivating plot, dramatic events and all sorts of dark secrets in The Goodbye Man.

Actor and award-winning narrator Kaleo Griffith delivers another powerful performance in The Goodbye Man. He uses his significant set of skills to better infuse the story with action and emotion, raising the level of immersion to new hights and at the same time he manages to keep the listener on the edge of his seat for the duration.

With The Goodbye Man we have another solid mystery from one of the best authors out there, brought to life by the talented Kaleo Griffith. If you are a Deaver fan or just love well-writen mysteries, you can't go wrong with this choice.
