Story
Jacob Reckless has only a few months left to live. He's tried everything to shake the Fairy curse that traded his life for his brother's - legends such as the All-Healing Apple, the Well of Eternal Youth, the blood of a northern Djinn. And yet hope after hope is extinguished. After months of fruitless searching, Jacob journeys through his father's mirror one final time to deliver the bad news to Fox. But there they hear of one last possibility - an item so legendary that not even Mirrorworlders believe it exists: a crossbow that can kill thousands, or heal one, when shot through the heart.

Imagine it were possible to bring the characters from a book to life. Not like when you listen to an audiobook with such enchantment that the characters seem to jump off the pages and into your bedroom...but for real. Imagine they could actually climb out of the pages and into our world. Then imagine if those characters brought their world into ours.

A bit disappointed
I was really looking forward to this book and I was very disappointed that Elliot Hill did not narrator this book. The story is great but Elliot Hill gave the other two books and their characters so much life that this narrator was just not able to do. 😒

I tried to like the Storyteller despite the previous reviews just so I could be different however I must agree it's kind of hard to enjoy the story with a new reader. the story seems a little cramped for information and was a lot to take in at once. it ended abruptly. there was no closing or even something to draw you to the next suspense if there is another book I don't know

Horrible narration.
Loved the first two books and the narration. Was not happy to have a new narrator but was willing to give it a fair shot. She uses inconsistent and strange "accents". Can't even understand what she is saying at times. Makes great story hard to listen to. Very, very disappointed

Really wanted to like this book.
What disappointed you about The Golden Yarn?
I love Cornelia Funke, her Inkheart series is one of my top book choices. This series however was ok but this last book was horrible in every way.
Any additional comments?
Try Inkheart it is a wonderful representation of her work as an author very detailed and something you can truly escape into.
