I'm an illusionist, not a psychic.

Going on TV is supposed to advance my career, but things go wrong.

Like vampires and zombies kind of wrong.

Great Read

I am a Male, but I still enjoy stories with a female protagonist who is strong and has a sense of humor. I loved this book and have already purchased the next two. I know I won't be disappointed.

a good story

I enjoyed listening to this novel. It was a good story with a few plot twists I was not expecting. Worth reading.

Interesting Supernatural World, Enjoyable read

I enjoyed the storyline. I also enjoyed the perspective from the magician. It was different. I thought the story flowed well. The world building will continue in the next book. Much of this story was spent with the heroine discovering what she is. So, the other characters true supernatural species was unknown until the end. There was lots of action which I also enjoyed. I did find myself frustrated with the main character being taken advantage of. I hope she grows to stand up for herself in the next books. I had a hard time picturing the main character with the narrator's voice. For me, the narrator came across as older than the main character. Other than that, I think she did a great job. This is the first book in the series. So expect some loose ends.

Great book.

Loved all the excitement in this book. Can't wait to get started on the next one. The story reader was also really good.

So much potential

I wanted to like this book but it was a struggle just making it to the end. It was just so wordy and it seemed a lot of the information had nothing to do with the plot. It's like the author for distracted by unnecessary stuff

Alot to like, plenty to dislike.

the protag was fun and the story was interesting and engaging, the protag was pretty dumb and the plot has some holes but the author did a good job of telling an engaging story. I would consider reading other works by this author. i was annoyed by the fact that all the men were either antagonists or weaklings and that after half a book the protag is still bumbling around unbelieving of the supernatural, thats some act 1 shit.

all over the place

I struggled not sure where this was supposed to take me felt like the whole book was a couple chapters set up. No character progression until the end.

What a mess

I can't finish it holy hell. These authors made a mess out of a book that could have been good. One minute the main character sounds like an adult the next she sounds like a teen. One part reads i get a weird feeling while driving my vesta down the road oh I should pay attention i don't want to get hurt or in an accident i look in my mirror and oh I'm being followed compleat discription of the car thenWhat should I do. I mean come on really this character has so much happen to her in the first 9 chapters one right after the other and is completely clueless on what she sees or feels tells herself that didn't happen she makes excuses or something's wrong with me. And the narrator sounded like a robot one sentence then normal the next. I tried for 9 chapters. Between the writing and narrator. I couldn't take it any more. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

dissapointing

okay listen if you want a book that's easily put to one side. in some places it could have been exciting if the narration was a bit more enthusiastic. I have a feeling this is better read than listened to.
I may by the second book and read it. I won't be buying the audiobook .

Great first-in-series book

I'm loving this book so far - one line in particular made me literally laugh out loud (unintentionally I think!). The heroine is feeling poorly and turns to the internet for help: "...I googled 'Stroke' and 'Pleasure' but didn't get many hits, so..."
