Publisher's summary

Daniel: I suck at relationships and don't trust anyone, but there are reasons for that. For one thing, every person I've ever cared about has let me down. The only recent exception: O'Leary's town veterinarian...my new best friend.

I came to O'Leary for a fresh start. To pare things down to essentials. To forget about the failures in my past. The last thing I need is complications, and most definitely not a boyfriend.

Julian: I've lived in O'Leary my entire life and learned to fly under the radar a long time ago. I do what's expected, say what's expected, and keep to myself as much as possible. It's a hell of a lot simpler spending my time working with animals than trying to interact with actual people. The one unlikely exception: the gorgeous guy who moved to a cabin just outside of town and somehow became my best friend.

But friendships are complicated, and one morning I find myself accidentally telling the whole town the biggest lie of my life. Which is how Daniel Michaelson, my very straight, very hot best friend becomes my fake boyfriend, even though he's most definitely not my lover.

Biased Review
I have a soft spot for stories featuring a guy who thinks he straight and learns that maybe he's a bit crooked. Plus, I rather like the small town vibe of this series.

GREAT SERIES!

I am loving this series! While this book doesn't beat the first book, this book was still great! Well written and narrated.

In order to protect Daniel from the watchful eyes of small town folk that don't trust Daniel because he is anti-social, Julian claims that him and Daniel are dating. The thing is...they aren't- Daniel is his best friend...his straight best friend (or so they both think). So happens that all of the bonding they have done as friends may have brought out some feelings in Daniel that he never would have expected. Fake boyfriends, turns to real boyfriends. But with secrets that Daniel does not want to come to light, can they really have a chance?

This is a great book and I loved watching how their relationship developed.

Can't wait to see what's next in this series!

Amazing story!

May just has a way of pulling you into the word she creates! The story had my emotions swinging and pulled me completely in! There were so many twist and turns and she has you routing for the main characters and screaming at them by the end.

Great story

I loved the first book in the series but The Gift is even better!! Normally I’m not a big fan of GFY but there was just something magical about Julian and Daniel. There’s a nice little mystery in this book as well. Cannot recommend his book enough!!
The dual narration by Iggy and Alexander was amazing! I absolutely adore the work these two do!

JD = Daniel?!

May!!! You’ve outdone yourself once again. Oh how I love your beautiful mind! The twists, the curves you make me go through! I am in love! I would gladly read only May Archer’s books from here on out. You’ve made me have every emotion in the last two books. Can’t wait for the next! Here we go!

Really enjoying this series

Julian makes me laugh and Daniel makes me cry, but only because of the beautiful heart he has. But I’m angry at him for not opening up to Julian sooner. The secrets are a killer but a nice surprise in the end!! As always Iggy Toma is an awesome narrator. I can’t get enough of his voice!!!

so much fun

What a fun and cute story. I loved both of the main characters and was happy to get to know a few of the townsfolk a little better. Can't wait for the next one.

Loved it

I don't usually like fake relationships but it was also a GFY which I love. I loved how it went back in time then came back to present to show Daniel and Julian's relationship. I expected a little bit more of a reaction about all of the secret's Daniel kept. This book has a very low level of angst. Iggy Toma and Alexander Cendese do an amazing job narrating. You just can't go wrong with either one of them.
