The first rule of being a ghost whisperer: Don’t tell anyone.
Seriously. Don’t.
Sure, it might sound harmless. A fun party trick, even. I assure you, it’s not.
How do I know? Well, let’s just say that I’ve had a lot of experience with this sort of thing, and nine times out of ten, it turns into an all-consuming disaster. Being plagued by needy ghosts twenty-four/seven is one thing; being harassed by a horde of curious—or worse, grieving—flesh-and-blood people is an entirely different circus. I mean really, who wants to hold an impromptu séance in the middle of the cereal aisle? Not me, and the manager of the grocery store probably isn’t too crazy about the idea, either.
So, that’s it. If you’re a ghost whisperer, just keep your mouth shut and act normal. Ghosts? What ghosts?
Now, if only I would start listening to my own advice…

While this story might have a lot of “fluff”, it isn’t lacking in substance. Sometimes a story where the characters are so genuinely likable and care about each other is just as important as a thoughtful mystery, and this has both. While the mystery isn’t the deepest one out there, it’s certainly made a lot more fun with the involvement of ghosts and wondering where the protagonist’s power comes from.
As someone who is often not a fan of romance elements for their cheesiness, I found this one a lot of fun for the love interest’s humor and strength along with the protagonist’s equal strength and thought they meshed well together.
Overall, the narration was very enjoyable and the story was fantastic, especially if you want a nice, cozy mystery without overly harsh elements. A great book to relax to without having your intelligence insulted.
Thoroughly enjoyed

This was another "new to me" author that I found in my Audible library and decided to give it a go. It was a very quick and easy listen that had a completed story arc and left me with a fairly satisfied feeling at the end.
The story centers around a small town woman who happens to be a "ghost whisperer" and also owns the flower shop in town. A crew from a TV show is in town to remodel a home in their town and it just so happens that this house is haunted. Unfortunately, the ghost that resides in the house does not was ANYONE in the house and has promised to do whatever it takes to make the people leave.
There is a "sort of" romance in the fact that Lucas is the hired security for the tv production company that travels from location to location to remodel these homes. Scarlet (the female MC) ends up becoming involved because, of course, she can see and talk to ghosts. She and Lucas embark on a journey as they try to discover what really happened in the house 24 years ago that has the ghost so angry.
Like I said at the beginning, it was a new author to me. The storyline felt somewhat superficial and there was not too much depth in the characters. Having said that, I did enjoy reading/listening to the story and have found that sometimes, authors tend to get much better as the series progresses. I saw that there are 7 books in this series so I think I would be willing to continue on and see where this series ends up going.
(P.S. I LOVE Amanda Ronconi so that might have influenced me just a little bit....)
