Publisher's summary

The first rule of being a ghost whisperer: Don't tell anyone. Seriously. Don't.

Sure, it might sound harmless. A fun party trick, even. I assure you, it's not. How do I know? Well, let's just say that I've had a lot of experience with this sort of thing, and nine times out of 10, it turns into an all-consuming disaster.

Being plagued by needy ghosts 24-7 is one thing; being harassed by a horde of curious - or worse, grieving - flesh-and-blood people is an entirely different circus. I mean really, who wants to hold an impromptu seance in the middle of the cereal aisle? Not me, and the manager of the grocery store probably isn't too crazy about the idea, either.

So, that's it. If you're a ghost whisperer, just keep your mouth shut and act normal. Ghosts? What ghosts?

Now, if only I would start listening to my own advice....

Substance and Fun

Amanda Ronconi as narrator is perfect for this tale. The ghost element has more depth than in many other of the same genre. Rosie the ghost, in particular. The heroine's voice is upbeat and self deprecating at times but has definite depth and blends the various threads of the story nicely. This is a cozy with substance. Good story, great narrator.

Ghost whisper

This a wonderful and delightful story. The ghosts in the story are very active and interact with the heroine. Can't wait for the next story.

Cotton Candy Fluff .... save it for a library DL

When a story ends, some books leave you wanting more ... and some just leave you wanting. There were some cute/ funny parts, but overall, this was fluff I wouldn't want to ever re listen to... cotton candy fluff. Sweet but no substance.

Cute

This was a cute little story. No sex, no strong language just a good story. Narrator Ronconi does a very good job but I could not help thinking I was I half moon hollow 🤔

Fun and entertaining.

I purchased this book because I really enjoyed the sample. I wished there had been more of her cat, Flapjack, but I guess he wasn't that pivotal to the plot. I enjoyed the narration but there were times when I became frustrated with the ghost Rose. Overall I'm glad I listened to it. I already have the next one in queue for me to start listening to.

Love. Love. Love.

This book (and subsequent series) is perfection. The author does an amazing job crafting an enjoyable story, with characters that are well developed. And of course the narrator, Amanda Ronconi, is as amazing as ever.

Pleasant surprise

I enjoyed this book/audiobook more than I had thought I would going into this read/listen. Danielle Garrett has created a great cast of characters to start off this new series. Amanda Ronconu,as usual gave an excellent performance as it all came to life. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

well narrated and engaging story but predictable

I enjoyed the story. The characters were likeable and interesting enough to hold my attention. it was well narrated. Unfortunately I guessed the ending at the beginning of the story.

Well you have to love Flapjack! a true aloof stroppy Cat even in death.

Entertaining, well performed with fabulous characters & a story line that rolls along easily.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series, hopefully with more Flapjack antic's!

written by a teenage girl?

Seems like the book is written by a thoroughly unworldly teenager obsessed with "boys" - despite the main character being a 30-something woman.

I don't mind the odd stereotype but why would an Englishman who died in 1926 address all women as Lady <first name> ? That was never a thing

Wasn’t sure to start with....

Gentle story.
Never had an audiobook narrated by an American before. Wasn’t sure if like it but Amanda Roncinis voice grew on me.

Quirky and cute series.

Not something I would usually choose to read....... but the cover caught my eye. Will give a couple more books in the series a go.... You don't have to pay a lot of attention reading - excellent to have on in the background or as a 'sleep' book.

Love it

After reading the Beechwood Manor magic mysteries series, it’s so nice to find these ‘side’ characters having their own series, I love the way they all link up to the same world!

Assault Isn’t Romance!

This book starts with an act of assault that is immediately brushed off in a way that happens way too often in conservative women’s fiction. Here’s the scene: The main character is walking at night when a man twice her size tackles her to the ground. He then proceeds to tell her that it was her fault and to get over it … and the worst part is that she accepts that she clearly deserved to be tackled and starts getting gooey feelings … for a man who attacks women walking alone at night!

The fact that so many many women think that these blatant acts of violence then gaslighting (he calls her hysterical and blames her for his violence) are romantic is genuinely disturbing. Seriously, ladies, every generation that fails to deal with the issue of violence against women dooms their daughters to more violence. It needs to stop now!
