Publisher's summary

Words like unnatural and impure started the whispers. From the very beginning, Ivy Blackwood was different. She was only a child when she was accused of setting the fire, one she passively watched engulf the small house she had called home. Her fingertips burned, and her hair singed. Some who watched her crossed themselves, convinced she was soulless for she showed no emotion at all. Calm and dispassionate, even when the screaming started that quickly turned to bellows of agony before dying into nothing but the roaring of the fire. She was locked away where she couldn’t bring harm to herself or others. To all involved, they had protected the world from a monster, but sometimes things are not what they seem.

Due to language and adult situations, this book is not intended for listeners under the age of 18.

Paranormal Romance at its Best!

L.A. Fiore is an incredible author! I love how she weaves the stories, and includes vibrant imagery, well developed characters and a twisting story. I loved the tale of Ivy and Bane, and thought that Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock brought the characters to life with their voices. They both are extremely talented narrators, and together they are magic. The ending of this book is open ended, and I'm hoping the author continues the chronicles.

Wow!

This book was wonderful. I loved all the different characters. Vampires, witches, and other unnatural beings make for a very interesting story. I was very intrigued and couldn’t put it down. The location setting was perfect. The narration was amazing!!

Fantastic listen!

I loved this unique paranormal listen and it’s a great start to a series that I definitely want to hear more of. Great story and cast of characters. Plenty of action, a beautiful love story, and a unique of mythology and psychology. Amazing narrators, they brought the story to life and are easily some of my favorite narrators to listen to. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Quite the ride

There is a lot going on in this book. There are so many twist and turns that even you will feel the enormity of it as the characters discover there hidden pasts! I will warn you, you gotta pay attention. It written completely from the point of view of the characters, so if they don't know what it is going, you don't know either. If you like a whole lot of fantasy and mystery in your book, this book is for you! and it is just getting started! ;)

Paranormal, Romance, and chills

I read this one when it released and enjoyed the story, but the audio version takes it up a notch or two. Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock add a nuance to the story that pulled me in and held me from the very beginning. There are a lot of characters to get to know, but once they were worked out and sorted in my head, it was easy to pick up with each person's point of view. The story has a haunting feel to it from the very beginning that keeps a listener guessing about the what's, who's, and why's. The author blends the paranormal, a bit of folklore, and that edge of your seat element wonderfully to create a steadily rising tension as secrets are revealed bit by bit. The character development, especially considering the sheer amount of characters involved, is astounding. Love them or hate them, each character is interesting and adds something to the story. The creep factor is pretty high at times, but there are also moments of levity with some brilliantly witty dialogue, and we even get some romance in the mix. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a few chills with the supernatural, and appreciates a love story that stands the test of time. The conclusion is rather open-ended, leaving the future open for this unlikely bunch of heroes. I don't know if another Ivy Blackwood Chronicles story is planned, but if so, I'll certainly be checking it out.

Good but not great.

There is so much going on in this book, it's very hard to keep straight. So many characters. For the first three hours you're basically just confused and have no idea what's going on. Eventually it starts coming together, but my goodness do they throw everything but the kitchen sink in to this book. When the elves came, I was just done at that point. In spite of all the craziness, I did love the love story between the main characters so I had to give it 4 stars. The female narrator is not my favorite. I've heard other books from her and she drives me nuts.

Ok

I gave this book a shot because of other reviews. This book is pretty complicated. There's mystical aspects, gods, goddesses, fairies, and a few vampires etc mixed in. There's star crossed lovers, family surprises and more. There's so much it's almost too much to engage in. I could stop listening for a day and not really mind. It's just too much. If you like supernatural star-crossed love ghost stories, maybe you might like. However it Drags out the drama a bit. There's not a lot of steamy things going on so it's more supernatural.

Fantastic Paranormal Romance!

This is the first book in the Ivy Chronicles Series. The Preface and the Prologue intrigued me, and hooked me from the beginning to the end. I absolutely love all about this story!: The characters (a lot of characters), the plot, the mystery, the suspense, the scenery, and the so beautiful romance! If you like vampires, Lycans, ghosts, witches, demons, God, immortal, and also humans, you should love this story. I totally recommend it. Now, I can't wait to listen to the next book in the Series, Jareth's story. Aaron Shedlock and Tracy Marks did an amazing job with the narration. This is a great team author/narrators! I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review. I have read and listened this story.
