Wonderful tenderness and promise found in relationships. Narrated exquisitely. Wonderful works can be easily ruined when poorly narrated. However, when enhanced by masterful narration are made completely perfect !

Amazingly romantic—one of my favorites yet!

Can’t believe how this story held my interest…all 17 hours of it…leaving me wanting more! What a talent…what a gem, what an amazing writer, so perfect! These characters will live with me for eternity, they’re so real. How I love them and how I will miss them. Wish I could listen and learn more about them. The best yet from Ms. LaVyrle Spencer…and brilliantly performed too by Emily Sutton-Smith. Absolutely adore and recommend this beautiful love story, it doesn’t disappoint and the ending will leave you a little breathless!

One of my favorite stories of all time

I read the book when it first came and have read it a number of times over the years. It was disappointing to discover that Audibles only had an abridged version.

I was thrilled to discover it is finally out in full-length version.

From loneliness to love

This is a great book, the third I’ve read now from LaVyrle Spencer. H/h both well developed, likable characters are living with loneliness and feelings of isolation when they first meet in Kansas.. Time frame follows the civil war and southerner Scott Gandy is a (dissolute) Rhett Butler reincarnate: beautifully flawed, honorable and protective of those in his care. Agatha at 35, is alone in the world; so much to give and no one to give it to. The author brings these two deserving characters together- it’s detailed, smart storytelling that will leave you feeling good. Loved it.
