The reason of the unusual importance of the case is that, it is charged, Frank was being persecuted because he was a Jew.

What makes this book so interesting is that it was written soon after the trial by journalists who covered the whole case, so that the language and flavor of Atlanta a century ago is unmistakable. The fact that the murder is shocking and a bit of a mystery adds to its appeal. As always, Russell Stamets brings the right tone to the narration.
