Horrible Narrator
The plot is very convoluted. Several rabbits to chase. I had to go back between chapters many times to figure out who was who and who did what. The denouement is far fetched. Too many plot lines coming together in unrealistic and contrived ways.
But the worst thing of all was the narrator! I almost gave up before I started. I had to slow down to .75 because she was speaking so fast . On top of it all she has an extremely nasal voice which grinds on your nerves and a very affected speech pattern.
I would suggest another book. Thete are plenty of good mysteries out there without having to be tortured by a horrible narration.

Story
After summer rains uncover a tattooed body on a Lake District hillside, an old wives' tale takes on new plausibility. For centuries, Lakelanders have whispered that Fletcher Christian staged the massacre on Pitcairn so that he could return home. And once there, what if he told his story to William Wordsworth, who turned it into a narrative poem? Jane Gresham feels compelled to discover whether the manuscript ever existed or still does. But as she pursues each new lead, death follows hard on her heels.
