I really wanted to subtract a star…
But in the end I couldn’t. Though the run time of this audiobook is frustratingly short for this genre, the story was still excellent. And unlike most shorter installments in other fantasy series these days, the author didn’t just arbitrarily chop the book at 8 hours in an attempt to maximize profit.
This book is wholly self contained and consistently plotted. As a result it’s definitely worth the credit. In fact I feel like every audiobook in this series just keeps getting better as the story unfolds. In the end my only true complaint is a common one for good books no matter what their runtime… I want to dive right into the next installment and am upset that I have to wait.
