A Favorite

A wonderful story about a boy growing up in the early 1900's. I have read this book 3 times and will listen to it many times

We are listening through the whole Little Britches series, and thoroughly enjoying ourselves. What a wonderful way to learn American history.

Books for any century and any age

I've been reading and re-reading (or listening) to each of the books in Ralph Moody's "little britches" series for nearly 15 years... as a young married father I find there is just as much enjoyment in them as the first day my mother read them to us siblings... but where I never cease to be amazed is the wisdom to be gleaned for any age, a young, college age or fathers &a mothers ... Ralph's adventures are books I will never put down and read to my kids and grandkids

Best yet

This might be my favorite of Ralph Moody’s books thus far. And it was by FAR the best performance of Cameron Beierle that I’ve heard thus far. This was a sweet sweet book with a perfect ending and I just loved soaking it all in.

Outstanding

This story was different than the others. Mr Moody shows his progression from boy to young man and the difficulties of connecting with his much older grandfather. This book is an excellent example of showing how love, hard work and determination can overcome differences and difficulties.

Compassion at a Price

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This puts altruism into a real-life setting without being preachy. I can't believe the boy stays. Is this what maturity looks like? I believe so . . . but at such a price! Wholesome, loving, work the way generations past knew it!

What about Cameron Beierle’s performance did you like?

Spot on with the grandfather's dialect. How he can even talk that way amazes me. It truly transports me to a time where families lived differently and people of our country spoke a different English.
