Publisher's Summary

In Eileanan, victory has finally been won, and those of faery kind - from the mighty dragons to the mysterious nyx - have sworn their friendship and aid. Only the sea-dwelling Fairgean have refused to sign the Pact of Peace. Driven by ancient hatreds, they have devoted themselves to destroying all who dwell upon the land.

Troubled by the darkness that may lie ahead, Lachlan agrees to release his beloved Iseult from the sacred oath that binds them together. It will then be for Iseult to decide whether she will remain in the mountains to resume life with her own kin, or return to the man who let her go.

To help bring peace to Eileanan, Iseult’s flame-haired twin, Isabeau, must also face her most difficult challenge yet. But before she can prove herself worthy of both the scar of the Soul-Sage and the ring of the sorceress, she must first find a way to heal her own wounded spirit.

Great ending to a great series

I have read the paperback version of this book more times than I can count and I have loved this series since I first discovered it. I was so excited to see it is finally coming out on audible. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life and speaking in a clear voice. Although the accent is heavy, it is easily understood and really brings the characters different personalities to life. The voices used make it extremely easy to differentiate between each character. I highly recommend this book. If you love a story of magic and sci fi filled with great accents and a gripping story then this series is for you. I really do hope that the next three that continue this story are added to audible soon.

Such gratitude for this epic adventure

I'm profoundly grateful for having found this wonderful trilogy. My life honestly feels enriched in so many ways for having done so. I selected this audio series as a means to escape reality and have found that it has rather managed to infuse it with synchronicity and a sense of wonder and adventure that have brightened my reality enough to no longer make me wish to escape it.

It inspired me to strive to find my own powers and cultivate enough bravery to create my very own epic adventure, which I hope I can manage to hold on to.

Not sure who said it but I recall someone influential saying something like, 'I'd rather believe in magic and be wrong, than not believe in magic and be right.' These books have sealed my resolve because they are magic, real and fantastical.

I could say that Kate Forsyth and Elle Newlands are incredibly talented, which of course they are, but I've always found that kind of praise to be a an understatement. It doesn't do justice to the skill, discipline, perseverance and good old fashioned slog that a body of work like this must require. They worked their tails off and it shows. It's masterful, in the writing and telling.

Page after page, chapter after chapter and indeed book after book they never once dropped the (magical golden juggling) ball.

I am at once humbled and frankly, motivated by this beautiful and detailed work and its marvelous teamwork!

I thank ye.

Satisfying conclusion

I was worried that this final installment of the series would spend too much time mired in battle scenes without letting the characters finish developing in their arcs. However, each main character was allowed to come to a place of peace by the end. My only complaint might be that with such a sweeping cast of characters developed over the course of the series, I would have loved to hear more from each of the side characters as they concluded this journey. Some had a passing mention as threads were tied up in the end, but others faded away and weren’t included.

Most satisfying was having the twins both find peace after their complicated storylines. And also finally getting to the point where Lachlan wasn’t just always an aggressive bully.

What an enjoyable escape!

Kate Forsyth has written a wonderful series full of imagery and stories all intertwined to form a world of wonder. Elle Newlands brings the series to life with her lilting, melodic voice. She brings the characters alive and has a beautiful singing voice as well. Thank you Kate and Elle for this gift.

loved this series. A+ kate. the narrator was fantastic. Elle Neal is not only a great reader but a great singer as well. If you love the fantasy, then you'll love this series. It would be fun to see a movie made. I'd like to see the characters.

Final book in the series

This book satisfyingly wrapped up a long saga. That being said, it was my least favorite stand alone volume in that it contained a lot of redundant exposition and has a predictable outcome. But, overall, I loved the whole series and wouldn’t have considered not listening to the last book. And the narrator continues to be fabulous!

Brilliant book and Narrator

narrator was brilliant, most enjoyable to listen to. Story was a bit complicated at times but all the way through keeps ypu interested in what will become of Isabeau, different to books I usually read but the narator has such a lovely tone and accent for the different characters, that kept me intersted to the end.

One of the best

Have to say this has been one of the best series I have read in a long time. Great author, great narrator and wonderful flowing story line full of intrigue and magic and dragon lairs and witches and even some well woven humour.
