Story
Since moving to Mystic Harbor, Maine, I've made it my life's mission to avoid Reese Blackburn at all costs. Sure, he has cheekbones that could cut glass, not to mention bedroom eyes that could melt any girl into a puddle on the floor. Too bad that doesn't change the fact he's completely stab-worthy. When a fun night out on the town turns deadly, I quickly discover the quaint little hamlet of Mystic Harbor houses more than sandy beaches and adorable B&Bs. Beneath the New England charm rests a world where shifters, demons, vampires, and angelic hunters all vie for power.

In an invitation. My younger brother has been chosen for the prestigious, secret magical school hidden within the folds of our mundane world. A place so dangerous, they don’t guarantee you’ll make it out alive. If he doesn't go, our entire family will be killed. Publisher's Summary
Protecting humans from dangerous magical creatures is all in a day's work for a faerie training to be a guardian. Seventeen-year-old Violet Fairdale knows this better than anyone - she's about to become the best guardian the Guild has seen in years. That is until a cute human boy who can somehow see through her faerie glamour follows her into the fae realm. Now she's broken Guild Law, a crime that could lead to her expulsion.
The last thing Vi wants to do is spend any more time with the boy who got her into this mess, but the Guild requires that she return Nate to his home and make him forget everything he's discovered of the fae realm. Easy, right? Not when you factor in evil faeries, long-lost family members, and inconvenient feelings of the romantic kind.
Vi is about to find herself tangled up in a dangerous plot - and it'll take all her training to get out of it alive.

Charming YA Fantasy
Would you listen to Creepy Hollow Series # 1 again? Why?
Yes! Although this book was slow to get going, in my opinion, the characters grew on me and I immediately liked Violet, the main character.
What other book might you compare Creepy Hollow Series # 1 to and why?
I was constantly reminded of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments. The Guardians reminded me very much of the Shadow Hunters in Clare's novels. Morgan's Guardians train to protect humans from the more malicious beings from Faerie and they also use a variety of weapons and gadgets similar to those in the Mortal Instruments books.
Have you listened to any of Jorjeana Marie and Zach Villa ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not. I thought they did a great job narrating!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not in the very beginning, but the further I got into the book, the more I wanted to just sit and finish listening.
Any additional comments?
Great narration and an intriguing story that is just beginning. Looking forward to all that will unfold in the next books!

Enjoyed it!!!!!
Pleasantly surprised. Discovered that faerie reads can be nice. Generally I dont go for theme because they are too high fantasy for me, but this was a perfect balance. Vi, did some fast growing up. I felt bad for her and I got quiet at my desk when Ryn broke down and told how he felt . The battles and action seemed very crime show cop/detective inspired but i like that. Rachel did the best job descripting the Faerien world m which is normally my sticking point on these type of novels. She handled that task with flying colors. Great read and i will be picking up number 2 tomorrow .

Started slow but picked up speed.
This book started out fairly slow and I wasn't sure I wanted to continue but after a few hours the storyline really took off and I enjoyed the story itself. Its definitely more of a younger teen story and the characters felt pretty immature.
The story itself was good, full of twists and turns and I liked it enough to download book no. 2.
The narrators were very good.

Got it cheap, wish I hadn't
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
a believable character
What do you think your next listen will be?
Something that is not so incredibly Twilight-ish. Just as Spam is imitation ham... Some people might like Creepy Hollow, but I am not a believer.
Have you listened to any of Jorjeana Marie and Zach Villa ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but this was professionally read.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Creepy Hollow Series # 1?
The scenes where the main character makes incredibly bad decisions - oh wait, that would be the entire book.
Any additional comments?
the 2nd book is much worse.

Don't judge a book by its first 3 chapters
I thought I could predict exactly where this book was headed. I couldn't have been more wrong. Im happy I was wrong, but I almost gave up on the series. I really like violet the main character. Her story is worth reading. I find her to be interesting, strong and relatable. Its definitely written for a young audience but I still enjoyed it and got caught up in her story.

Nice light reading
The story is cute. Magical training academy, enemies to lovers trope, no spice (minors) but lots of romantic tension.
My biggest qualm is while I feel like the narrator brings the characters to life, she sounds like she has a cold the whole time. The stuffy nose talking was a bit irritating

Perfect? No. Fun? Yes.
Um. Okay. This is going to be really hard to review... I should not have liked this, at least in theory. Violet does not really have an overall goal so although the differerent parts of the plot are linked they feel more like individual adventures, and the climax isn't really all that climactic, considering nothing is really defeated, just escaped.
HOWEVER, this was really fun. I didn't want to stop listening. I enjoyed what happened and felt for Vi. The best way I can think to put my feelings for it is that it was like reading a good fanfiction, the characters and scenes are a lot of fun but it feels like the writer is letting it go where it wants to. So, despite some flaws, I enjoyed this. Enjoyed it enough that I'll be picking up the sequel.

Great introduction to new author
The Faerie Guardian is book one in Rachel Morgan’s Creepy Hollow Series.
Violet Fairdale is a 17 year old Guardian Trainee, Guardians are the police of the Faery world, they protect the humans and Fae who can not protect themselves, she thrives to be the top of her class. When Violet is sent on an assignment to protect a human boy from a reptiscilla, a Fae creature. But when the human can see through her invisibility and follows her to the Fae world, the perfect record and graduation she has worked hard to get is in jeopardy. But the human, Nate isn’t all what he seems.
I really enjoyed this book, the twists, connections, friendships, enemies and betrayal is addictive and exciting. Some secrets are revealed that will have you shocked, the history between Violet and Ryn will have you on the edge of your seat hoping that it will be repaired. The characters development and growth is a sight to see.
Violet is a kicka** heroine who is trying to be the top of her class, she has secrets from her past that make her who she is. She struggles with the feeling she has towards both Nate and Ryn, just when she thinks she has a handle on them something else happens and it’s in the air again.
I wasn’t really a fan of Nate, she just seemed too excepting of what was happening around him, but then when things took a turn I was very disappointed and annoyed with him. But Im hoping he will redeem himself later. Ryn on the other hand he is the band boy and everyone secretly wants the bad boy, I didn’t understand the hatred between him and Vi until the end of the book but now I rooting for him.
I’m looking forward to reading The Faerie Prince.
