Story
For sisters Robyn and Wren, nothing will ever be the same. The cities are burning; the world is in chaos. The dead are rising...and they're hungry. Safety? Security? These words are meaningless now. They fight, they hide, they run. No rest. No respite. All they can cling to is hope. Hope they can find others. Hope they can learn the skills needed to survive. Hope they can stay together. Their situation seems desperate, and the only thing they can depend on is each other. But is that enough?

not bad but missing something
Not a bad story for a British zombie book. (I just keep thinking that surviving a zombie apocalypse is much easier when you have guns) The characters were well written and likeable. The story was just missing something. It had a pretty good flow to it, good conversation, and descriptive enough.
The end gets a lot better and gets you hooked to want to get the next book. I will look into getting the next book, as soon as get through my backlog of audio books. Thank you.

Perfect for young girls that love the zombie genre
What other book might you compare this book to and why?
Hmm, maybe Surviving the Evacuation series. I'm in the US, so I'm not use to listening to apocalyptic books based anywhere else. So I'm finding this similar to Surviving the Evacuation because of location.
Who was your overall favorite character and why?
Wren. She's 15, extremely smart and an athlete.
Which character – as performed by the narrator – was your favorite?
No one in particular. She did a fantastic job with all the characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I practically did. I started it late at night, got all through it except the last hour, then finished that the next morning.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, unless they hate Young Adult. Having said that, I didn't realize it was a YA until after I started listening, which I usually dislike any and all YA, but I really enjoyed this one!
What did you love best about the book?
That Wren was so capable. I just loved her!
Which scene was your favorite?
When Wren whips that snot out of that older boy.
Which character did you like least? And why?
I've already forgotten his name, but the guy introduced at the end. He's definitely up to no good!
Any additional comments?
The author must have teenage daughters of his own because he nailed the teenage girl attitude perfectly! You've got a 15 year old that's smart, athletic and common sense bursting from the seams. Then you've got her 17 year old sister that's into fashion, cell phones, boys, she even puts on makeup after the zombie outbreak. Put these 2 girls together and they'll fight like cats and dogs. But it was so sweet to watch them bond as Robyn matured and accepted that her little sister was way better at all of this than her.

A great find for all aged zombie readers
I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more. I normally follow a book geared more towards adult content, however this showed that if a story is really good it will draw you in no matter your age. This is a survival story that you can find relate to regarding the family dynamics. You really learn what strength and determination you have when pushed to it. Great story and I can't wait to get into book 2.

Great Read
The End of Everything (The End of Everything #1) was a good read by Christopher Artinian. Two sisters are living a nightmare. Now their survival depends on them spending time together and it's the last thing they want. They are in an apocalyptic horror that they could've never imagined. Terror lurks at every corner as they navigate the city to find safety. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more but the author.

Trying To Decide
I'm thinking I'll return this. I should have done more research before getting the Audible edition of this book. Actually, I didn't do any research at all. My mistake.
The cover art had me thinking this book took place in a rural town in the United States. Nope. It's a city. In the United Kingdom. Well, okay then. Wait a minute! The narrator sounds like a Londoner. Shouldn't residents of Edinburgh (which is the capitol of Scotland) have a Scottish accent?
I don't know. Should I continue listening or not? Will these inconsistencies continue to annoy me? The picture, no, but the narrator. Yeah. First, no beautiful Scottish lilt. Second, this woman sounds like she has a stuffy nose. That's another oddity. This narrator is clearly a grown woman. Aren't these sisters supposed to be young? Teenagers?
Fifteen minutes in and I am losing patience. There's not much backstory; just some girl sneaking through a house and watching graphic violence out her window. Then she's eating lunch with her sister. They sound identical. Are they supposed to be twins? Oh, I guess they aren't. That question got answered. What about ALL the other missing elements that would help me to "feel" involved in this story? It's just one more gruesome, gratuitous scene after another. Who are these people? At twenty minutes I learn that the coach is pervy. Do I care. Nope.
I'm going to quit now. Thirty minutes is more than enough to decide. Life is too short for this type of book.
I will say that I might have enjoyed this novel when I was a teen-ager myself. Now, though, not so much.

Great book, a must for apocalypse fans!
A great book.
I really enjoyed the story once I got used to the British narrator. I loved how the characters grew from the start. What they experience and how they handle these experiences also seems very realistic, this is what I think the average person that survives something like a zombie apocalypse will have to go through to survive.
All in all a great plot with a great narrator.

Great Zombie snark
The story starts hours after the event that sparks the zombie apocalypse, and the sisters are still in shock, Christopher Artinian describes their rivaly was so expertly I couldn't imagine them managing to leave the house together, more likely to kill each other before the zombies even had a chance. Their snarky interaction was hilarious, and their first excursions nail biting, and the reality that zombies are not the only threat.
I can't wait to find out what happens to the girls next, I definately need the next book in the series!
