When South African conservationist Lawrence Anthony was asked to accept a herd of "rogue" wild elephants on his Thula Thula game reserve in Zululand, his common sense told him to refuse. But he was the herd's last chance of survival: they would be killed if he wouldn't take them.

A wonderful look at these amazing creatures!
What I found most fascinating about this wonderful book is the sometimes successful attempts on the part of the author to communicate with elephants. It's well-written and extremely well narrated!

A story with such heart!
My book club read this book a number of years ago and loved it. Very evocative. Then just a month ago I heard a news story about elephants and it reminded me of Lawrence Anthony and his heroic elephant story. I ordered it on Audible and have been captivated as my dog and I walk the neighborhood. Truly a heartwarming, important story about these powerful gentle giants. Thank you for a wonderful presentation!

Want to walk among elephants?
Really enjoyed this autobiography. The whole mystery of elephants will always fascinate. That this gentleman rescued a herd that had been deemed rogue is a tale of love and determination.
