Publisher's Summary

Can they use their newfound powers to save their hometown, or will they die trying?

The summer is over, and the promised get-together results in an epic sharing of the transformational adventures that have gifted Akiko, Saxony, Georjayna, and Targa with their elemental powers.

When the Elementals are recruited by Petra to execute a super-secret global project that is supposed to change humanity for the better, it seems as though the girls will be rocketed to fortune and glory. But when they accidentally unleash a dark and terrible force, things deteriorate rapidly into death and destruction....

This deadly entity seems immune to their magic, and it is too late to turn back.

The Elementals is authored from three points of view and is the sixth and final audiobook in the Elemental Origins, a series of captivating YA urban fantasy novels that can be listened to in any order. If you like new twists on elemental lore, simmering romance, and strong female lead characters, then you’ll love A.L. Knorr’s teen fantasy adventure.

The groan became a growl.

I whirled, raking the trees for whatever made the sound.

The forest had lost its color, just as part of the sky had. I blinked and rubbed my eyes, thinking something was wrong with my vision. When I opened my eyes the view was the same. The forest and sky were shifting from the dim color of early morning to shades of gray. In fact, the edges of everything looked blurry, like a heavy fog had gathered.

The growl came again, from everywhere and nowhere. My heart galloped in my chest.

"Where are you?" I yelled into the trees. "Show yourself!"

My answer was a deep roll of thunder...or was it a slow, throaty laugh?

The forest grew dark, and the trees faded from view, swallowed up in the unnatural fog. Cold slime felt heavy on my skin, and I scraped at my cheeks with my fingers, letting out a yell of frustration.

How could I fight an enemy I couldn't see?

Great series!

I really enjoyed the series. It's an interesting combination of fantasy, some woo woo, and interestingly similar to some of what we're going through right now. Highly recommend to anyone

Love A L Knorr’s Elementals

Okay, I’ll confess I’m maybe not the target audience for these books but I hear I’m in good company and a lot of older folk appreciate the YA category of books. The Elementals caps off a series of books introducing us to four inseparable high school friends headed off to separate summer vacations, each of which gain special powers over that fateful summer. This story is their “The Avengers” moment we’ve all been waiting for when the friends get back together and decide how they’re going to get on with their lives. As with the rest of the series, the story is moderately paced and flows well from start to finish. The characters experience growth and each gets a balanced amount of the “crossover” story.
I read the books before I started experiencing the audiobooks. It’s a slightly different spin on the same story for me, the narration is great and I find that in listening to the story, certain details fill in better from when I’d read it. The audio is highly enjoyable for me.
Looking forward to more from this author.

A.L. Knorr knows how to break a heart

This book is slow yet interesting. You don’t really see how horribly wrong things are about to go until it’s smacking you in the face. This book is fun cause it brings all the girls together and sets the stage for their spin off stories to bloom. But it will also break your heart. Wonderful book!

Real Friendship to Real Life

I enjoyed how the story brought together the individual stories of the girls from earlier books. It’s also fun to immerse myself in the belief that mere humans can evolve into a supernatural force greater than oneself through love to battle the greedy darknesses in the word.

What a ride!

Whoever said this was a children's story had it half right. All ages would enjoy this exceptionally well written, fast paced, fantastical tale.

Loved every single adventure of all the elementals and their friends! Give this Author a listen, you won't be disappointed.

Good Finish to a Great Series

I received this book for free and I am giving my honest and voluntary review of it.

I thought this was a great end to the "Elemental Origins" series. After I read the first 5 books I have to say Petra was my least favorite character out of the 5 girls so I was a little sad that the book was mostly from her point of view but I understand why because a lot of it was a continuation from her story and book, Born of Air.

I was also a little sad of where things where left with Akiko, wish we knew a little bit more about what happened with her.

Overall it was a great story and it leaves all the girls in a great place for their respective series and I look forward to reading each of them!

Superb! Great ending! Action packed.

Did not disappoint. I have enjoyed all of the elemental Origin stories individually, but this took it to another level. Particularly enjoyed Petras and Akitos characters in this book, they had been my least favourite so far, but that has changed now....they are kick ass! So glad you are bringing out more books around these characters....phew, keep them coming!

Loved it!

It was wonderful to see all the girls together again. This segment of their story was full of surprises. I felt for Petra when she found out some of the answers to the question she was looking for. Betrayal hurts but Petra will have to decide if she can forgive and move forward.
The ending of their story was full of emotion.
I’m excited for each of them as the being their new adventures but I’m a bit sad to see them go their separate ways, especially Akiko.
I can’t wait to find out where their journeys will lead them.

Brilliant ending to this chapter

This is the final book in the elemental series; well, this chapter of it anyway!

The story begins with the four characters that we have met in Saltford meeting up and coming clean with each other about what happened to them over the summer. What follows involves all five girls, a huge plan, and something that puts Saltford in mortal danger, leaving the girls with a huge decision as to whether to stay anonymous or to save their city.

I don’t like to post spoilers, but Abby wraps up the series in an exciting, climactic way that, whilst finishes this chapter, absolutely leaves it open to follow the girls’ stories further.

Gabra Zackman does a great job of narrating the book, managing to keep all of the voices separate and distinct, as always it’s brilliant to hear it brought to life in this way.

Breathtaking conclusion

If I could give this book more stars, I would - it was breathtaking!

All the Elementals come together and think they are doing the right thing. However, all is not as it seems and Petra finds out some truths.

In a rage, she confronts her boss and unleashes a demon.... one that will take all the Elementals working together to defeat.

Non-stop action after the demon was unleashed and it was truly spectacular.

Yet again, Gabra Zackman does a wonderful job of bringing this story to life.
