Tesni Anderson built a dungeon where people could survive.

Loved the direction this went!

Book 1 was good, with some artistic tendencies needing to be adjusted (how the core communicated with her other denizens). Book two got much better in that respect. An extra person to talk to, and a lot of the repetition cleared out, made for a much better listening experience.

The core continues to be as impulsive as ever and I LOVE that a village is growing around her entrance. A very fun story!

Massive improvement on book 1

I wrote one of the reviews on book 1 calling out the editing/repetition issues, but also thought the series had great potential. I'm happy to say Book 2 cleans up a lot of those problems and really starts to embrace it's potential. Writing is much smoother and pacing is great, lots of improvements and new character introductions.

The author still gets a bit repetitive at times (like in argueing with Threk over new villager improvement cost, or highliting how old the elf is) but those are the exceptions. In general, I really like the direction the story moved here.

Only suggestions I have are that I'd love to learn more about the outside world and the dungeons potential place in it. Some PoV chapters for guest or new residents would be great to broaden our perspective on how unique what dunegeon is trying to do actually is. Also the dungeon really needs a protector/guardian (bouncer?) now that she's hitting higher ranks and getting a village.

Overall, well done and an impressive turnaround. Looking forward to the next.

love the book

I love the storytelling but I had a hard time connecting with the new narrator
