Publisher's Summary

Miss Chloe Fong has plans for her life, lists for her days, and absolutely no time for nonsense. Three years ago, she told her childhood sweetheart that he could talk to her once he planned to be serious. He disappeared that very night.

Except now he’s back. Jeremy Wentworth, the Duke of Lansing, has returned to the tiny village he once visited with the hope of wooing Chloe. In his defense, it took him years of attempting to be serious to realize that the endeavor was incompatible with his personality.

All he has to do is convince Chloe to make room for a mischievous trickster in her life, then disclose that in all the years they’ve known each other, he’s failed to mention his real name, his title…and the minor fact that he owns her entire village.

Only one thing can go wrong: everything.

Loved the...

Loved the laughter, the passion, the ethnicity in this book.
Enjoyed the story and how it is told with another race in mind (asian decent).
Even with the problems of racism, culture, ethnicity and a persons station.
This book has everything needed for a great read/listen!

Courtney Milan

I listen to audiobooks a lot and have listen to all Courtney Milan audiobooks and many other authors to many to name. This audiobook was so well done between Courtney Milan story line and Mary Jane Wells did an incredible job narrating ... Can’t wait until for the next.

Delightful

Ingenious story of friendship & budding romance that draws on difficulties faced by Asian immigrants in 1800’s England. Starts a little slowly but stay with it! Mary Jane Wells performs it in her engaging manner that causes this recorded book to be a special delight.

Adorable and unforgettable

I loved every single character. There were times when I laughed out loud, times when I teared up, and times when I smiled like an idiot. The way Courtney Milan writes romance is so beautiful and pure and I’m so excited for the next book in the series!

Delightful!

This book odd utterly delightful. The dialog is witty. The characters are fundamentally good people who still need to do work to get out of their own way. The story is touching while also being relatively low angst. I recommend this book to everyone. It is one of my favorite books of the year so far.

Couldn't get into it

The narration is good but I just couldn't get into the beginning of the story at all.

Pleasant

I liked this book but didn't love it like the Brothers Sinister series. I very much appreciated that the characters were very inclusive,I liked them all and the premis was a good idea. The problem for me was the story was not that interesting. The reader Mary Jane Wells did an excellent job. So all in all it was good, but certainly not great.
