Architect Kayla Carter and her husband designed a beautiful house for themselves in Round Hill’s new development, Shadow Ridge Estates. It was supposed to be a home where they could raise their three-year-old daughter and grow old together. Instead, it’s the place where Kayla’s husband died in an accident - a fact known to a mysterious woman who warns Kayla against moving in. Chamberlain never disappoints
I loved this book and was sorry to finish it, as I wanted these characters to stay with me much longer. My only issue is with one of the narrators. I don’t know which one used the very high voice but it was quite irritating. Others were great, however.

Kept my attention but left me unsatisfied

There are multiple readers for the audio version of this book. All did a great job except the voice of the midwife. UHG! If she would have been the only reader, I wouldn't have finished listening.
This was an interesting story with lots of little mysteries. It kept my attention and I enjoyed it.
But, in the end, there were too many unanswered questions and I was left feeling unsatisfied.

Good story
It was not Diane's very best book, but it was good. It took me awhile to figure out the relationships of all the characters. The ending had an unexpected twist and was the surprise that I have come to enjoy from Diane Chamberlain. I would recommend.
