She trusted him. Now, she’s paying the price....

I loved my husband, Doctor Drew Devlin, but he betrayed me. And now he’s dead.

As I put the key in the lock and open the door to the luxurious new home I’ve purchased with Drew’s life insurance money, I’m certain the worst days are behind me. My secret is safe, and I can’t wait to enjoy my new wealth and freedom.

Then, I meet handsome Roger. I wasn’t looking for a relationship, but as we spend our evenings drinking wine on my sunny terrace, I realize he’s just what I need right now. Roger is nothing like Drew, he’s spontaneous and romantic. And most of all, he’s honest.

He thinks I’m a rich, lonely woman. He’s wrong of course, there’s so much more to me.

But then one night, when we’re curled up in bed together, Roger says something that makes my blood run cold. I think he knows the truth about my life as the doctor’s wife.

I will do anything to stop my past from catching up with me, but is Roger really who he says he is? Or is my life now in danger?

An absolutely gripping psychological thriller packed with jaw-dropping twists from the number one best-selling author of The Doctor’s Wife. If you love Behind Closed Doors, Gone Girl, and The Girl on the Train, you’ll be hooked on The Doctor’s Widow.

Just as good as the first book. I already have the next book in the series. I do really enjoy Daniel Hurst,'s books.

I was so looking forward to this book but in my opinion it could have been half as long. It was repitivie and dragged on.

Well written and it immediately grabbed and held my interest throughout the entire book. Now I can’t wait to read book #3.

Very good.

I was disappointed after looking forward to this. I also, as in this the first book, disliked the male narrator. He talked exceedingly fast and with his strong accent and slight tendency to mumble, I missed a lot of what he was saying.

Nowhere as Good as the Doctor's Wife

Something about Daniel Hurst I just love. This series is by far my most favorite. I am so glad there are two more in the series. This book, like the first has kept me on the edge of my seat. It was a nail biter.

****SPOILER BOOK TALK BELOW****

This is why there should be a discussion group for those that listen to books. This is one series that I actually like the villain. I don’t want Fern to get caught. But I also didn’t think it right that Alice went to prison for a crime she didn’t commit. I kept thinking throughout the book, can’t they both be free? 🤣

Honestly I feel that Drew got his just desserts. He proved that in the first book when he was willing to let an innocent man die just to get what he wants. That goes against everything a doctor stands for. In Drew’s mind Rory could potentially have cancer based on what Rory told him. He didn’t know it was a lie but chose to not get the blood examined. On purpose!!! So as far as I’m concerned he deserved what he got.

I don’t think Alice deserved to go to prison. But I also feel no one would have died if she didn’t sleep with a married man. Yes, Drew was persuasive and kept bugging her but, when her and Rory left Manchester Alice didn’t have to tell him where they were going. She could have blocked his number or got a new number. She made it easy for him to follow.

I don’t think Rory or Roger/Greg deserved their fate as well. Roger/Greg could have saved himself though. When Fern threatened to delete the evidence he didn’t have to put up a fight. He could have just let her do it and his life I feel would have been spared. He already sent the evidence by text. It wasn’t till he cornered Fern that it didn’t go well for him. It doesn’t excuse her for her actions but it just didn’t have to happen. I think the next book will be interesting.

Really worth the listen.

Love love love
