Publisher's Summary

Melanie Hoskins, an experienced firefighter-paramedic, has been recruited by a very selective and secret organisation known as The Division. Their mission is to protect the populace and secure the continuation of the United States. The Division is only activated at times of dire need. This just so happens to be one of those times. Based in New York City, Hoskins is forced to leave her civilian life and those she loves behind, and join the front line to try to control the 'dollar flu' virus that has been spreading throughout the city.

Not everyone agrees with how this outbreak should be dealt with, and those who used to keep the city streets free of waste have taken matters into their own hands and formed 'The Cleaners'. This group of sanitation workers, custodians and janitors, believe that the only true way to clean the city, is to burn away the infection, including those who still carry it. The mission is clear, until Hoskins discovers that one of The Cleaners’ newest recruits is someone she can’t bring herself to view as the enemy.

Based on the hit Ubisoft game Tom Clancy’s The Division and starring Katee Sackoff and Shannon Woodward, The Division: Hearts on Fire is an action packed drama that explores duty, love and the impossible situation of a woman trapped between the two.

Hearts on Fire is written and directed by Kc Wayland, an award-winning writer, producer, editor, director and United States Army veteran whose film and audio work has been enjoyed around the world.

Agent P-Dot

As an agent of The Division (1 & 2) for quite some time now I thoroughly enjoyed this listening experience. I love the lore, story and characters of this universe. Cant wait for the movie to be released on Netflix. Highly recommend this for anyone even if you haven’t played the games. Who knows maybe this will make you want to become an agent yourself!

So incredible!

I can’t believe how great this is! I’m stunned at the sound quality, the performances and the world building. And the realism. I asked my friend who was in the military, and everything they are saying and doing is JUST like Real Life! (For example, They do say things like “smoke out” in case of friendly fire)

I can’t wait to listen to the rest of this! Kudos!

Beyond captivating!!!

I've played the games and read the books but this is on a WHOLE other level!!! The sound, story and emotions were off the scale. Ubisoft, If you read this by any chance, PLEASE do more transmedia content like this for these games. Also get alex Irvine to make a SHD agent official handbook with training tips, rules and agent workout routines etc... This can quickly be your new flagship title given the real world events. Agent over and out...EXTREMIS MALIS

Katee Sackhoff is great!

Still early in listening but so far it’s fantastic! I’m fairly new to audiobooks but this one by far blew me away. Came for Katee but staying for the story. Fantastic performance that keeps you engaged! Loving it & will be listening during my commutes for the foreseeable future ❤️

A good hearted gal’s job is never done

This is the first Tom Clancy-ish novel which has made me wish I had not heard it. First the good news. It is an eye opener to consider the consequences of what could happen in grand NYC if a pandemic were not controlled. Especially In light of today’s current COVID 19 conditions. So, again, true good news is the bad guys were stopped, sort of, making for a sequel. But now the bad news. If there is a second The Division sequel I will studiously avoid it. Along the way over and over again I had to put up with the failures of the good sister who could not follow mission objectives by listening more to her inner conflicts than to her commander’s orders. But worse, her angst and wavering made me cringe with her sobbing and histrionics which made me think she had the mentality of a 15 year old Valley Girl. In Spanish I wanted to yell, “no seas tan chillona”. Roughly translated: stop with the whines, lady. Maybe it was just the author’s story or maybe the actress needed to return to the rule that understated acting is better than constantly overacting. Anyway this baby boomer reader acknowledges the younger generations may be more touchy-feely and might just love this. But the phrase “just do the right thing” seemed to mean something else in every other Tom Clancy story. Protagonists did not take 5 minutes sobbing away while bullets were flying and companions were dying, Every time!. Oh, and suggest The Division should improve their psychological profiling of recruits. The good sister would have eliminated the evil sister a lot sooner. Or at least with out so much whiney angst. Sorry but this one hurt me to listen to. I wonder what younger readers will expect if after liking this one they begin reading all those great early Tom Clancy novels. Probably drop them as “not whiney enough.”

What was this supposed to be?

I hope this was made for people who have not played The Division game. No one announces what they are doing like this.. "Smoke out", "OK". I couldn't listen to more than five minutes of this ish

Great performers

Terrible, unrealistic, ridiculous, poorly illustrated, weak plot, characters with basic motivations fighting a nondescript enemy in a directionless story. Waste of time.

Awesome!! but I am biased

As a hardcore Division gamer this Audible original nailed it!! Loved the voices and how well it brought the story and game together! I am very impressed at the attention to detail with the sounds of combat and the gambit of emotions unseen but masterfully displayed in an audio format. Great job Audible!! I wish it were longer but that's me just wanting more.

An immersive experience for Agents

This story pulls you in as if you are right there with the characters. Love the use of the background ambience. It’s like listening to in-game cinema. I get bored with a lot of audiobooks, but definitely not this one. If you’re a fan of the games, you owe it to yourself to give this one a shot.

More then just an Audiobook!

If your a division fan JUST listen to this, enough said!

This is a Audio Theatre experience not just someone reading a book, if you know KC Wayland for We're Alive then basically all his years of experience is concentrated into a Division Story, no one better could have been picked to do a "audiobook" version, because his a pioneer at immersing you in a world with just sound.

You don't need to know the game.

I know this is based on a computer game, but don't worry, you don't need to know that to follow the story. More like listening to a movie than a book.

Well produced thriller based on a computer game

story was not exceptional but all actors did a good job. It is not a smart story, but works well as an easy, pleasurable listen thanks to great cast, nice audio effects and music

Great story.

This is a great audio drama. I haven’t had the privilege to complete the game, only managed to do a free trial, so full knowledge of game isn’t needed at all.

Great sound effects and voice acting. This is the first story that I have listened to in one sitting.

I have to give it a bonus star because it came as a full episode. Rather than having to stop and start the next chapter which can be a little annoying, and takes you out of the story.

Fully recommend this free audio drama from the creators of We’re Alive. (6 stars!)

Story line very topical.

With what is happening in the world at the moment, this is a very thought provoking story. Well put over by the cast.

Very well executed story! Action packed and atmospheric. Soundscapes are great and acting is great. Can’t wait for more stories by KC Wayland.
