"Grow Up & Screw Up"

Would you consider the audio edition of The Diva Rules to be better than the print version?

yes, as the narrator gives you the uplifting message without leaving your comfort zone.Try the new 1.25x speed for a change of pace. You will be surprised.

What did you like best about this story?

If you love an uplifting message, then this is IT. If you always wanted out of your comfort zone, but always think "that is not me", then this message ought to do it. Remember, it is still about the power of you.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

"People want to be near YOU, because they feel better about themselves"

A Whole Lot of Nothing

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I recently heard Michelle Visage on a radio interview and was like 'This woman is awesome!'. And she is. But this book wasn't. I think in radio format, drag race, and interviews Michelle's true beauty and talent shines best. This book was filled with hackneyed, feel-good phrases, blah blahs, etc. - rendering it a bit dull. Her narration was wonderful and VERY Michelle.

I've learned a lot about acceptance & being kind ♡

I've learned a lot about acceptance & being kind... not like "generally I'm a kind person"... but in consciously making the decision every day to be truthful but from a kind/loving place. Work hard for everything you have, the people that succeed, do so because they will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to have the life they want. Thank you ♡♡♡

Touching entertainment!

Girl this book not only made me laugh out loud in the street but also kept me thinking and questioning those rules and... better yet! I actually took some action and put in practice some of the tips. Michelle's reading is without doubt one of my favorites audiobook I've heard so far, beyond charismatic and down to earth, kudos!

Love and Hard Truths

Michelle Visage dishes love and hard truths in equal measure. She's a great storyteller, recounting her days on the NYC club scene, and climbing into showbiz on talent, bravado, and determination. She is telling you right now, with love in your heart and a willingness to work your ass off, you can do anything.

I must give a special appreciation for Michelle's narration here. She takes no prisoners, performing this like a one woman show. She's hilarious, inspiring and dare I say? Fabulous!

I loved this frank, positive, self-help manual from a total diva.

Inspiring, Engaging Fluff

I love Michelle Visage even more after listening to this audiobook. It won't change your life or talk you out of a depression, but it will give you an inspiring kick in the pants and a few chuckles. It's an autobiography, with just the juicy bits and some genuinely good advice.

So motivational!

"If I can make life better for just one diva, I'll be living!"

I found this book very motivational, positive, and powerful. The performance is entertaining and it sounds more like she just chatting with me. I've have the pleasure to meet Michelle Visage in the real world and she is just as lovely and positive. I'll never forget what she told me, "You have to do what you love"

LOVED THIS BOOK.....

Would you listen to The Diva Rules again? Why?

Oh god yes I would listen to this again, and again...Flicking through Netflix desperately trying to find something to watch and landing on RuPauls drag race, becoming a fan and then an addict. I saw Michelle Visage and thought to myself that woman scares the bejesus out of me. After listening to her book, if I met her in real life, I would just want to give her a "Hey guuurrrl" and hug her.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Her openness and her vulnerability, especially when discussing her anxiety moments.

Any additional comments?

Any additional comments.......errrrrmmm....thank you for introducing me to Drag, I'm a married hetro 48 year old woman from the UK, a Secretary. And now a Diva Secretary...p.s just bought a ticket to see Bianca Del Rio on my own....cannot wait. Buy the book you will love it... xxx Love from Linda R. :)

Loved it. At 0.9 speed...

Michelle Visage tells her own story with laugh-out-loud anecdotes AND tender, vulnerable remembering. Each chapter is structured with a life-lesson. Clever.
My only note: Michelle, take a breath! What you have to say is worth hearing, so give the words room with a bit of space.
My solution: I slowed down the play speed just a touch.
Funny. Inspired. Inspiring. Come through! Did I say that right?

Wow just wow

Michelle will not let you down. Part Biography, Part Self Help, Visage shows how she isn’t always credited for her strength to success in a rough world. She tells us how she make good from bad, found her place in the world and how we can too, thank you Michelle.

THE book you need to listen to!

First of all I looooove Michelle! As a big RPDR fan I’ve always admired (and felt bowled over) by her confidence and fierceness. She’s the woman you want in your corner, and in listening to this, you genuinely feel like she is! This has been in my wish list for so long and it was perfectly timed for me to listen to it when I did. I genuinely can’t describe how much I needed to hear her rules, and how much they’re helping me already.

A Motivational Biography Anyone Can Enjoy

As a middle class, 20-something, bisexual, white girl, this book spoke to me... but that's irrelevant. I'm not one for biographies, but I am a huge fan of RuPaul's Drag race and Michelle has always been one of my favourite part of the show. She's so honest, blunt, confident and beautiful, and most importantly; genuine.

My mum got me a physical copy of the book for my birthday and when I started reading part of it, I was surprised to realise that the book was in part, a motivational lifestyle guide. However, I couldn't quite bring myself to take it seriously cause in my mind, it was just another lifestyle book, and words are just words.

However, when I saw this on sale on audible and realised Michelle herself read it, I was hooked. Hearing her voice, telling her own life story through all its high and low points, experiences and lessons, knowing that I was hearing the real person made the words and more importantly the messages real for me. This book was a fantastic look at someone I was a already a fan of, and now feel inspired by. Her story was fascinating to me and her lessons were blunt, personal and real, I felt as if she was telling the story to me personally.

Whether you're a fan of Michelle or RuPaul, whether your gay, straight, a drag queen, black, white, male, female, if you feel out of place or like some kind of misfit, or are just someone who feels alone and needs a boost of self confidence; this might just be the biographical lifestyle book for you.

Inspirational, hilarious and honest

I loved Michelle Visage on Drag Race so I was excited to hear what she had to say but I still wasn’t prepared for how much I enjoyed this book. It’s gritty and no nonsense straight from the jump but light and delicate where it matters too.
Some of the tips are definitely more workable for ‘everyday’ non-celeb people than others but all are really valid and relatable. This listen has inspired and motivated me and I’m excited to see where Michelle’s tips and advice take me.

Basic bitch brilliance

True, heartfelt, warm and sassy. Very basic in it's concepts, sometimes that's all you need from a self-help book. No for everyone. Easy flowing and fast passed.
